Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Dorne,
The chicks are 7 days as of yesterday.

So now I have another issue....
Our former landlord was due to pay us the remainder of our deposit as of the 21st of this month. She says she mailed it out the same day she sent and got a reply from me via email.
That was the 19th of May... We have recieved NOTHING. I texted her on Tues, and said if we don't get it by friday I would let her know.
Well Friday came, no check so I texted her to let her know.
She said she would look into it after the holiday weekend. According to relatives who had rented for MANY years.. she HAS to get us the remainder by the end of the month, or she would HAVE to give us the entire amount back.
NOW I know we owed for heating oil. About 500 dollars worth, it was in our rental agreement. BUT if she doesn't get us the remainder, in a timely manner, can we go after her for ALL of the deposit?
According to the tenant resource center, she has to get us the remainder by the 21st of the month, after we move out.
She said in an email she would consult her attorney and her bank, after the holiday weekend.. which gives her until Tuesday at midnight to get it to us... OR at least postmarked on Tues.
Soooo does any have an idea how we should handle this?
And does any one have experience with this. I am going to contact Hens and Roos... to see if she knows.

Thanks
Carol

Good morning! er...afternoon. I have been hooked up on another favorite site and the morning has slipped away! But I do have a line on a couple of new tortoises!

Nice harvest Raiq!!! My lettuse is about 3" tall and I am expecting to eat some soon...I did harvest mint already....but those radishes sure look tasty!

Gaelio--What I do for favorites is just put the address in the toolbar of your page. THen I only have to click one button sice I usually come here first thing! I use Firefox for my browser...I guess it depends on that.

DrH--you have my mind spinning with what miniatures I can make for P2 for his "ultimate bash experience!"

Just what I need something else to do....

Gotta run--I want to get the big garden tilled and I havent even fed inside birdies yet!!! Have a fantastic day! Terri O

Gaelio, all I do is click onto the "subscribe to this topic" at the bottom of this page.. then I get an automatic notice whenever someone posts.. hit enter, enter, and you are here

Jeez, people! I've only been gone one day!

I knew I'd be in for a lot of reading.

Dornes, check out this thread for some nest box ideas. brounii on post #24 has some neat plastic ones from Lowe's. I saw some similar ones at Walmart and immediately thought, wow! Those would be nice nest boxes! My mom just shook her head & chuckled. And you are corrct. MANY wonderful people on this forum. Life is way too short to be mean & nasty. Glad you joined us. Always room for one more chicken lover! Sounds like a great coop you're building. You'll have to post some pics. And your chickens will take care of those worms for you, and provide plenty of fertilizer, mulch & compost for you too.

DrH, I have a little tent that is the perfect chicken size. It was a store display, a tiny version of the full-size tent. My cats loved it, but one of the fiberglass(?) braces broke in half.

I've still got it somewhere. And I really want to see chicken sunglasses! If that chicken costume is too hot for you, we could always try tar & feathers. I'm sure everyone would donate some feathers for ya.

FT, be careful about soaking spruce roots. They don't like too much water for too long. If you're planting them in a garden, I would just put them in the ground & mulch them with your coop cleanings. Otherwise, if you put them in pots, they will need to go in a barn or garage for the winter if they're real small. Or you can put them in pots and bury them in the ground in the fall to protect their roots from freezing. Just make sure to use big pots so the roots can develop if you're planning to leave them for a couple years. Good luck on the guinea hatching.
WCC, I chuckled picturing your potential ducklings. Whenever I saw my bantie roo mating with the big girls, I always pictured getting some small chickens with huge stork legs. That would be my luck.

TO, (& Cind) score on the rummaging! Lucky you! And, yes, you've gotta watch out for Jim.

SF, so sorry to hear of your tumble & illness. Sure hope you are feeling better soon. I know how you feel. Sorry about your eggs too.
Did I say we would be home around 4am? Try more like 7! Then went to bed & didn't get up til 11:30.

Seems like I spent the rest of the day reading.

On the bright side, I did find a way to get rid of the nausea & bad taste in my mouth: sangria! I'm ususlly a beer person, but that stuff is like Kool-Aid.

Hope everyone enjoyed their cloudy day!

Hi all!

DrH- don't forget to get a little sleeping perch for P2's tent! I think he'll love s'mores even more if instead of chocolate, they had meal worms!
lol.png
What chicken would not love graham crackers, marshmallows, and meal worms!

Raiq-yum on the radishes! Those sure look tasty!

Carol-wish I had an answer. I would not be surprised to find that either she will show up on your door step with check in tow or....she did mail it as per the law knowing full well that the court will go by the post mark..... or most likely she will have it posted marked by the 31st. It sounds like even though she had to have it post marked by the 21st, she has until the 31st of May? Is that right? It seems to me that she would owe you on the date your lease was terminated? Not the end of the month? I think that if the tables were reversed she'd be calling you constantly and threatening to sue for her money. Some people are just to bent...I'm glad you no longer have to deal with her.

TO-this one is for you since you asked soooo very nicely:

good evening, well, I sure planned this one out .. I have two full trays of eggs in the hatcher and have 50 guinea eggs to still go in.. I have one shelf left, but I have to improvise a hatching tray..

I finally got a chance to work on my 2 wheel garden cart today.
I got the whole floor planed and cut to size and glued together..
I decided to make it 36:" long and 27"wide.. I have a trailer full of cedar 2x10x10' .. It came from a deck I tore down and rebuilt a few years ago.. I settled on plan #1.. it will have permanent sides instead of removable.. One end I still might make removable, have not decided that yet..
I cannot find a bolt to fit the hole in the wheels.. so I don't know if it is 7/16" or metric..

I have to put some feed away and chase the birds in for the night..

I sold 10 more guinea keets today.. have only 3 left.. will be setting about 1 1/2 dozen more tonight..
