Sorry if there was more to say.... forgot again and I'm not going to re-read.

Duke had another inner ear infection. Other than being blind and teeth having a few issues (normal for a dog his age) he's doing good.

The vet said it's hard to say how long he has left. Could be 3 months, could be 3 years! He got some antibiotics for his ears and some glisomine (ok, it's not in spell check! lol) for his joints. Problem is DH got him liver flavor! And Liver flavor stress tabs and Liver flavor dogie aspirin. I think we have one of a handful of dogs in the world that dose NOT like liver!

So, rather than wasting them all we have to chop them up and hide them in hamburger or cheese!

Would have been cheaper to get people stuff.

He did loose some weight and we have to keep tabs on that. If he gets real whinny keep knocking him out with benedryl. At least we will all get some rest.

My wrist is feeling better.... not good yet but improving.... that bone must have gone back where it belongs!

I let Mom have an outing with her babies today. I used the new chicken tractor so everyone was safe. I took them out in the pet carrier and at 7:30 Mom had the kids all packed up and ready to go back!

She's a good mommy!

This is Sissy .... the feathers on her back are growing out more and she lost those cool "little wings" she had.... still like the swirls though. I wish she would grow faster... she's the smallest one in the big coop.

The "youngin's" They have to go in the big coop by next week.......

So that these ones (from Jim) can go in the small coop! Getting crowded in there!

Neat pics Cind! Just love pics of lil fluffy butts! Gonna start to intigrate the youngins today. Frac gets away from me just about every day and always returns to the coop after being chased by the big kids. That's a good thing. Hope Dukes meds work for the ol feller and your wrist continues to improve. CC glad to hear Dottie is improving!

Haven't any beetle problems here this year. Bigz don't ya just love the way the garden looks after weeding? Found the first grn pepper yesterday and the cuc's are forming.

Going to do the weeding eatin and mow today. An hopefully get the fridge running in the camper. Sadly I'm not good with elec. Pretty basic understanding. Might have to take it to a RV dealer. Spent yesterday splitting wood out at the kids place 7:30 till 2.

A lot more there than I thought. Got a list of stuff that they need around the house came home and it was like an Easter egg hunt. It was fun! WCc your niece looks so cute all dressed up! shanti hope you can get Mitch compfy with the boomers! ODr.H sounds like your going in deep, hope you do well at the shows! Better get movin!

Duck hatch report: 2 dead in shell, one live hatch, one still in shell but alive. One egg was somehow tossed from the nest by MOM and she spent the night picking away at the shell..... poor baby was freezing when I checked on her this morning so I brought egg and baby inside the house and warmed it up a bit with some hot water in my hand (no I did not pour it on the baby), then stuffed it back under mom. I am hoping it was not too soon for baby since it looks a little like the yolk is still not absorbed.... but it is difficult to tell while still half in the egg. #3 I poked a hole in the shell for incentive. The two DOA.... well the one was still going strong last night but I did not want to mess with it since I saw a LOT of blood in the membrane...... the other was gone when I came home from work.

Mamma is not as good at keeping baby with her like Jules; I walk in the house and walk back out to baby running wild all over the place with the bigger ducks!

I hope it all ends well by this evening! If not, I have another duck wanting to go broody.

good morning, got to bed early,(for me) and up before 7am.

DrH. I agree; these cool mornings and warm nights are why we live in wisc and endure those minus 20 winters..

Dr H. on your elec. problem.. you know the RV places charge $80.oo/hr right? and they do not care how badly you need it, you are put at the bottom of the list and you will wait... I know this because I chauferred a 40 footer for a man for 5 years..2001-2005....

I got all of the potoatoes watered yesterday.. 150 gallons of water..

I am going to water just a section of the corn.. the rest of it will have to depend upon the rain..

transferred over 90 assorted eggs to the hatcher.. guineas are hatching like popcorn.. 14 new ones.. one pip on the second batch of pea chicks.. I hope these are stronger than the first batch.. People collect the eggs and then drag their feet getting them to me.. Some people just never will catch on.. the only one we saved from the first batch is doing fine, but has a crooked toe.. "saved" a he11 of a word to have to use for hatching, eh?

I am off to the garden.. have agout 1/2 hour of tiller time to put in between the rows and then water a bit..

I found a less expensive place to buy new tiller tines for my troy bilt horse model.. Troy wanted almost $300.oo a set !!!! I found an after market place that cost $129.oo including shipping.. still too much but what can we do?

Hi everyone been a long time since I have been on here. so much to read up on. Well My friend brought home a brahma easter egger mix roo. He is/was beautiful. A few ago he somehow escaped his pen and ran into the hay barn. I tried getting him but he jumped up real high so I let him stay there for the night. the next day he was out crowing waking everyone up and eating like crazy. At sundown I raced outside to close the barn door before he got in but I was to late he was already in there. so I let him stay in there for one more night. Next morning I did not hear crowing. So I went into the barn and he was gone. I looked everywhere for him but no feathers or body or anything. Maybe he wondered off to far I am still looking for him But it has been 2 days that he is missing. I hope I find him soon

Good morning! Just came on to read and keep up....again! Great looking roo Polla! He looks huge! Carol--your niece is adorable! I would like to meet her sometime. ODrH--what do you mean by "qualifying show?" Do chickens get points or legs or whatever like dogs do? I havent heard this...of course I am not really into showing chickens either!

The cages are all set up at the only show I have been to and I do the same as MLH and just load them into pet carriers to get them there. I had 8 in my truck on the way! It worked pretty well except for the duck who was difficult to get out of the carrier. If I had brought more of my "wild" chickens I would have appreciated an open on top type of carrier I think.
Hey Brent--my new waterers arrived yesterday and I am putting them in the coops today. I am hoping I can find some cement blocks to set them on around the farm. One was together but the other one I had to assemble...think I did it right...we'll see.

I think I need all you weeders to stop by here and put some time in my garden! We weeded and then the rain came and I think there are more than ever in there! I always lose ground during fair week....and today I have to waste time driving to the airport! He just messaged me and said the flight was so far on time so I have an hour to work around here before leaving. I am glad the girls are at the fair already so they can feed the chickens and duck!

Well I suppose I ought to get some laundry going...sure wish when I took a week off I REALLY didnt have to do anything!

Hi all!
Zeus the arab is going to his new home tomorrow...
Now what do I do with an entire pig... sliced and diced however I want it... Any takers for pennies on the pound??
Zeus will be CLOSE so I can monitor him, and they are going to hire me to give lessons to son and new owner.

My hatch report is 5 alive, 2 dead in shell, 2 hatched fuzzy, all dry but got smooshed by mom. 1 non hatcher but probably fully formed, and one born early and eaten
by the flock. the 5th one was the surprise..
No hatching from the duck. I will give her another week then toss the eggs...

I have lost two of my original silkies from something so everyone is going on antibiotics, bumped up protien and getting wormed.
Well I have to jet to get a hay wagon up to where my hay will be getting baled.
