This was me around 7 o clock, I went to make some hamburger, my new client came by to pick up her spare tire and her old tires she had left at the tire place in town, I was in town and she texted me to pls pick them up.
That led to me showing her my tomatoes, then a tour of the outside buildings, I then got her, her tires...
Hubby comes running out, saying that the hamburger is burnt, and there is grease every where and smoke...
I have already lost it, and I am only 41... yeah... LOL

I hear you, Carol. If I don't have at least 15 projects going in a day, there's something wrong. Whether I actually get them all done in that day is another matter entirely........
And my DH can be the same way sometimes. Would it kill them to take the food off the stove, or turn it down or something on that order? No, they'll let it burn & come out to tell you about it.........

On a good note, I got my coop completely cleaned out(!), weeded & mulched the veggie garden & one of the flower gardens, got some cleaning done in the garage and did 2 loads of laundry, and the dishes. Going to bed now!

too bad, are you still up or back up?

I made the mistake of going to bed before midnight,, I am back up drinking a beer.. I hope I can get back to sleep..

something was out in the yard.. it had the motion lights turned on..

and I spoke too soon before,, when I went out to lock up the birds, it began to rain.. right at 9PM.. rainy nights, warm days, good for the gardens..

AAADD...LOL, boy do I know the feeling!
I'm still getting used to navigating around the site, so I posted about my injured roo on another spot and got some good answers...but, I'm going to ask my fellow Wisconsinites.
My cochin roo boy that I got at a swap meet, with my chicken converted daughter-in-law, got mauled by the neighbor's german shepherd. I really can't yell at the neighbors because they have an electric fence and sometimes the dog just dashes through. And, on top of that, the neighbors are nice about my chicken pack going over and scratching in their flower beds. <sigh>

Well, I found him (a cochin banty) right outside the coop door in a swirl of shaken feathers. That's how I knew it was the german shepherd. Dogs always grab chickens and give them a shake. He was alive but looked shaken

, so I put him in a nesting box and checked him when I got home from work. His legs aren't bent, but he's walking like a drunken sailor. Maybe he will make it, but always have a hitch in his giddy-up. I don't know. In the meantime it was suggested that I keep him isolated in a pen. Any other thoughts? If his leg looked obviously broken I would wrap it up, but, it really doesn't.

Welcome

, sorry to hear about your boy, if you can keep him by himself so the others can't bother him, that would give him time to rest and heal. You might try putting some vitamins in his water just to give him an extra boost. Sometimes it's a wait and watch him to see if there is anything else going on. Good Luck!

Good idea about the vitamins! I'm a naturopath and regularly dose my animals. I should have thought about it myself.

I think some arnica would help with the trauma, too, so I'll give him that in his water.
Yup, it's always good to put our heads together.

Good morning...only read the last page...trying NOT to get overwhelmed cause I missed yesterday! Feels not too bad out there--yet. I hope it doesnt reach such high humidity again today...that really slows me down. Great post Cind! I suffer from that same thing...that is why I am trying to get back into my routines. all that putzin' really gets a body tired--I call it spinning in circles.
Hey, ther's not too much to comment on when you only read one page! LOL. Gaelio--that wounded Cochin should be OK if there isnt anything internal that got broken up. Also if you can give him a heating pad on low under the cage and cover the top and a couple sides with a towel. THe extra heat seems to really help with sick birds. Vitamins are good and add electrolytes too. Good treats like HB eggs and chopped greens to keep his energy, interest and spirits up. Good luck! Is Merton right near Oconomowoc? (like North/East?) There was a mill in a place with a name like that where I got my very first chickens. Funny, I found an old photo album yesterday and there was a pic of them...

Cant remember what I am supposed to be cooking today at Trinity! Guess I will bring all my books...trying another recipe from my new one tonight. I headed to the Mexican Grocery in Fort yesterday (get mine and my clients hair cut next door) and got some tomatillos and a few other specialty items...I LOVE that store! My client refuses to go in because it "stinks" in there...oh brother...smells like any other grocery store to me!

Here are a few pics of DD19 and the horse we took to the show last weekend:
Before the CC phase.

If I can figure out how to bring some pics here from FB I will show you those too. I didnt have my camera along that weekend.
Better get moving! Later all--have a fantastic day! Terri O

ETA: Dornes, we has some really bad looking ones at out fair too. THis family "didnt have time to wash them" and they were production Cornish. Bad looking! When I raised meaties mine sure didnt look like that! Me and several others told the superintendent and the birds were washed within the hour. THat is just bad PR if "show birds" come looking all nasty! Poor guys!

You are welcomed anytime you may be in the area! From 1 Ameraucan Mom to another!
Packers: They should have a good year. Not straddled with Mike Marks and Lovie Smith! Bears management threw away anything we had that was good. Mike Marks is going to make our Bears another Lions team. As soon as he left the Lions to come to Chicago, the Lions broke their losing streak. Now where do I get a Packer Jersey around here....Hm..?
