Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good afternoon! You can always tell when it's crappy outside...we all sit on our computers and read and post! DH is pulling apart the pie safe so he can install his TV. We are going to set it on the buffet for now. I told him that he shouldnt be taking all the stuff out of there and putting it in the path...where does he think he is going to move the pie safe? Yeah...he doesnt get how to move furniture in this house...very carefully! It is like one of those number puzzles with one open square that you had as a kid....not too easy to do for sure!

I am about ready to get up and find something to do cause I am sure this will become MY project in short order...Cant wait until he brings the buffet in from the porch!

This is an interesting project!

Nice pics everyone! I love the look of those Orloffs! They look very aloof to me. Are they a friendly breed?
AWWW Jim...you can tell your old jokes if you want! While I was reading yours the voice in my head sounded like the woman in Fried Green Tomatoes telling it. Driving me crazy that I cant remember her name...the Bee Charmer....you know...dam^

Well--I better run. I think I will thaw out some chicken for supper tonight...I am hungry for chicken! Later! Terri O

DH forwarded this to me:

I did not know this...
When you drink vodka over ice, it can give you kidney failure.
When you drink rum over ice, it can give you liver failure.
When you drink whiskey over ice, it can give you heart problems.
When you drink gin over ice, it can give you brain problems.
Apparently, ice is really bad for you.
Warn all your friends.

TO: The Bee Charmer's name was Idgie. FGT was a good girl flick I must say, although Steel Magnolia's was better.

CC-That was one funny post! I ment to tell you that your little bunny girl is very cute!

BBP-my Girl are sending you stink eye looks! They want a green house now!! I knew I never should have mentioned it to them!!

Jim-I like your jokes! Oldies but goodies never fade or go out of fashion! Unless they are clothes from the 70's. Those can fade off into obscurity all they want.....

OK everyone...I am sure this topic has been beat to death...But...Chickens in the winter......The coop is insulated walls floor and ceiling....We let them out during the day......Does the coop need to be heated??? We did buy a heated waterer.......To heat or not to heat that is the question???? And on another note "darn snow".....I must be getting old already thinking 4 months ahead.....When hopefully the grass will be starting to grow again!!!!

Well, how many chickens do you have? How big is your coop? The smaller the space & the more the chickens, I don't know if you need to heat it, as long as it is insulated & draft-free.

ok so those near madison ( Terry, MLH, Hensnroos, Carol) anyone have babies recently? or am i one of the only crazy local ones with chicks in winter... so we had a solo hatch from the 2 batches of eggs... was wondering if anyone wanted to part with a chick if they have one? There is one person near lodi with month old productions for sale... just looking at other options. ( my productions are all mean birds). I am going with solo for our current chick and she (being optimistic) is 2 weeks old. Came from Carols birds and is a marans/ee cross is my guess... grey/black with feathered legs at moment.

Anyway... hope everyone is feeling better... yucky weather and I am sure the coop will be a swamp tomorrow. We had a great day getting the tree up and went to Olbrich gardens to walk in the jungle and see the trains they had there. Then dinner out as a treat for me! Hooray!
