Happy New Year.. snowing pretty good here.. at least an inch on the ground..

went and played cards for awhile.. it was a new experience for all of us.. we played with cards marked in brail because we had a blind man playing with us..

going to bed now..

just realized tonight that there are no herring in the house.. I think this is the first time in my married life that has happened during the holidays..

Well DH and I put together a last minute party for our friends,
I learned a few things-
1- I over spent, 2- the people who live there won't help, 3- one is likely to be embarrassed by the other (see 2) AND whine about it. 4- those that are able bodied won't help with set up or break down (except one good friend), and 5- And when a friend is drunk before the party, doesn't endear them to their friends, especially when you get into an argument about movies you brought. We are not doing this ever again....

I've wanted fresh fish so bad lately

Well, I HAD 17 eggs today... then Roddy tried beating me to the door and knocked the basket! Wound up with 12!

OK.... I started this post a couple of hours ago and I was trying to post a pic of some eggs but it wouldn't load!

We did forget the fish but, IMO it isn't dead enough for me. It needs be in the freezer for a while before I don't associate it with a flapping fish on the cutting board.

When OM and I first started dating 9 yrs ago he went pheasant hunting and brought home a few. He said he would cook them for me that night. I told him tomorrow would be better. He said No I'll make them for supper tonight. I said no tomorrow would be better. This went on for awhile. Finally he said Why can't we have them tonight. I said "They're not Dead enough yet" !!

Haven't been able to fall asleep yet. What a way to start the new year, I'll be tired and cranky tomorrow (actually today) !!

Early morning and Happy New Year to everyone! We had a nice evening at home just hanging out. Played a couple games of Sorry with the kids and watched the incubator.

As of this am we have 3 eggs pipped no one is out yet and it is day 20 so right on track! Hearing some peeping going on too!

DH is watching the radar and will be heading out to take care of the snow route, especially since it will be changing over from rain to mixed than snow, need to get it taken care of before it freezes solid.

Happy New Years Morning To Everyone! Only got an inch here can still see the top of the grass. NasT wind though. Have to bring in about 3 wheelbarrow loads of wood today for the upcoming cold snap. Brr! H&R hope those chicks get out OK!

I hate it when they zip thats as bad as when they start rockin. Can't stay away from the bator at that point.

Currently very windy here, not much snow by us but sloppy, scrapped off the driveway so it doesn't turn to hard pack!

Now have 4 eggs working on break out!

Going to make breakfast for the kids and myself-they are trying to decide what we should have this am!

Morning to all and Happy New Year! (geez--I think we've said THAT enough!) What an excellent post from BigZ again! I love it when he gets all sappy.

Too bad about the party Carol...ours was fun. The town limo picked us up at the house to take us back to where we ate. They had told us they were doing fireworks at midnight so we went. Then it brought us back home to my friends' house. First we dropped off another group...the guy couldnt even sit on the seat...I was really glad he wasnt driving! We hung out for a little bit and then headed home. DS22 made a surprise visit--we didnt know he was coming home. DD25 said he was going to call when he needed a ride home or he would take the limo. He is sleeping on the couch and just said he and his friends took the limo all around town (and back home) He (and I) wish they had it every weekend! Sure would save on the gray hairs worrying about him!

The plow just went down the road and the blade was bouncing like crazy...I think the road is already rutted ice. It is very mild outside right now though...was raining during the night...I woke up about 4:30 and it was nice listening to it on the roof. DH just came down and asked if DS was alive..."he looks like a corpse"

I was out of my mind last night...I invited our friends over to watch the game and have prime rib with us! Oh brother...now I have to cook it up with other things now cause we will have more people eating it! DH thinks we need to go and buy ANOTHER one...gotta have a 1 pound slab on yer plate ya know...I think he is going to have a problem with the biggest loser competition in 6 days...

I know what you mean Carol about "able bodied people" not helping for sure...I just said could you go down and get the roast so I could get it thawing...nope--"you invited them..." yeah...it's going to be a great day...
