Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I cant remember size if it is 8x6 or 8x 9 as there are 2 out there with this brand... but this is what it looks like and being last years model the price is slashed in half...

The shed looks really nice. But personally I am a HUGE penny pincher and couldnt bring myself to buy a shed when I already have one. But if its within your means and you would like to go larger then yes, I would say it could be converted easily. Plus you could hose it out easily.

I could build a pretty nice coop for 500 bucks! LOL

Weather is beautiful here today. Went into work for two hours and left - still draggin' with the viral pneumonia / bronchitis. Just don't seem to have any energy at all. Getting REALLY tired of laying around too... (double edged sword) - at least I'm down to taking 250mg antibiotics every eight hours instead of 500mg every six...

Nothing happening with the quail eggs either - I hope I didn't get a bunch of duds!

Have a great day!

Ok, trying to catch up a little. Sigh!

Cind, good luck with the broody. What new breeds you thinking of getting? Sorry to hear the toilet troubles are back. Has to be one of the worst problems to have. I hope you get it fixed soon.

I'm so glad your Isis & roo are ok. Scary.

New Joe, wow, nice hatch record! You sure did everything right, it seems. Congrats! Cute fluffy butts. And I'd say try the quail. What can it hurt?

Besides, from what TO & others say, their hatching sounds pretty exciting.
DrH, the ground squirrels are out by you already? I can just picture you waking up with one on your chest.

Better that then a crowing roo, right FT? Shrewd man you are, getting the soon to be in-laws started on the chicken addiction.

Jim, open 2 windows. I almost spit my coffe reading about how to catch a tick.

Terri, must be the breed? Unless Tommy is really old, I don't think he could be related, at least not closely. Jack will be 10 next month.

So glad you got his crop issue cleared up. I don't know about turning him into an imbiber, though. Do they have AA for poultry?

Talk about a social chicken!

Eeewwww! I saw that story about the pink slime too, Bigz. Nas-T!

Raim, so sorry about your call duck.

Yikes Tiki, I would definitely move if I were you. I agree with Terri, too creepy. Nice looking flock you have there.

Mx, how many chickens were you looking to get? Large fowl? If you have the room, I'd go with building a big coop & a run. Chicken math is inevidable, and a tractor will be way too small in no time.

to the newbies to our thread! Hope you visit often.

Awwww, cute duckies, Apyl!

Kris, I have a plastic shed for my coop. Love it! I say go for it. And that price is great for the size. I want..........

Well, that's as far as I got. Too much stuff to do today, but hopefully I'll be back later!

Oh Celtic... do you have a pic? Not much is coming on general searches for plasic shed for coop... would love to see a comparison.

Someone else had a great idea too- with the side shed that attaches, line up the nest boxes with that and cut hole in back to retrieve egg from outside.

Good Morning all!!!

Gonna be another long day. I was downstairs with the silkies last night and didn't go to bed until after 4am !!! Why in the heck do I always to that when I have plans the next day.

I have to be in Eagle River at 1 to meet someone to pick up some lavender orp eggs for the kids to hatch. But after more thought I might just hatch them myself. I'll give the kids all green and blue eggs to hatch.

Then going to Antigo to the Country store at 6pm for a purina horse owners workshop.

My thumb is throbbing like mad. My little girl Pot belly pig bit me last night and man does that hurt.

CC sorry to hear about your water problem. We had 3 feet of water in our basement in Racine. We were up here and my water bill was over $400.

So Jim you never answered me. Do you want company on your drive to Tomskis or are you ignoring me ?? LOL I could meet up with you with the truck and trailer (if I need a trailer for 2 cages)

Ok, gotta go downstairs and find my phone that I left down there last night.

Man I"m tired !!!

Saw my Runner ducks doing the 2 minute drill !!! I told the farrier that I would hatch him out some runner ducks. Plus I have a waiting list for duck eggs.

Time to order chicken food AGAIN and Hay !!!

Later Taters, speaking of, where has Tator Tot been lately ????

Thought I'd hop on so I wouldn't leave anyone out... That ain't happenin. Sorry! kristip CC's right the bigger the better! Never enough room. Tomski hope you beat that bug, sucks to be sick! Kicked the big kids out of the coop except for Btwo she wanted to lay and they are lovin it! Got most of them out in the run but they all came back in. Baby steps I guess. Gonna need a chicken stick to herd them back in the appartment. The big kids aren't happy with the arrangement. Bfme How's that?

Was sittin here and was lookin at the run and here was Peatwo in the run and by the time I got there there were 3 hens inside too. Thought I latched the doors? Went out and here was a big hole in the bottom of the chicken wire. It's rusted through. Peatwo pushed through it. Smart poophead! So gotta get some welded wire for the bottom now

They weren't after the chicks just their food. Went and got some bottom stabizer bars for the 3pt hitch and stopped at Ace for some staples and asked if my pressure regulator was in for the pressure canner. It's coming tomorrow. Surprise! Saw some half gallon canning jars too. Hmmm

Just taking a break from my housework and wow a lot of posts! Nice to read all about what everyone is doing!

Cindlady I hope you can get that problem fixed soon. What a bummer! Maybe you can get someone to build you a outdoor rain/solar shower (mother earth news type) LOL

CC I hope that sump gets cleared up with not too many of the ***words***

There is some really good advice on here and some really funny sayings,,,but,,,crs right now,,,was enjoyable though.

I don't think I will post at night anymore,,,I get too tired and read it the wrong way.....LOL

My landlords and neighbor also like to help themselves to the produce. enough said. argh

DrH thats ok I dont need to collect hatching eggs. Just a thought I was at the Pet store yesterday and they are getting in some pullets from Cackle on April 17th. The choices are Black Jersey Giants, EEs (which they call Araucanas), and Buff Brahmas. They are 2.55 each. If you decide you want some let me know. You have to reserve them. They are also getting some more in May. I looked up where you live and didn't realise it was that close to me. Somewhat. I thought you were over there with the crowd on the eastern side. LOL I am thinking I might not go to the Neillsville swap anyway it is so cold and early. (would probably have to wake up at 3 and then I would be a blubberring idiot) I dont do well on lack of sleep.

I ordered some soap from Tatters and sent MO last week.

A little red wine is supposed to be healthy for those that can drink, but I don't know if T should be drinking beer. LOL I love my cochins.

I have looked at the plastic/resin sheds wishing I could get one but always wondered if it would be hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

Love to see picts of your fluffy Ameraucana chics MLH. :)

Thanks for the feedback on the landlord thing guys / gals~I guess I am not reading too much into that.

I don't know why Buddy is being such a dud. I wanted him because he has half Pat Lacey's blood in him. I mean her birds.

Tomski I hope you feel better. I had that pneumonia a couple winters ago and it really makes you tired for a looonnnggg time even when you are recuperating. The meds were really bad too. One made me sick the other made me loopy.

Just came in and thought to catch up while sipping some water and thinking on what to eat for lunch....
Saw my elderly neighbor today and I am rather surprised he is still at home. I thought he'd be in assisted living by now. He knows it's only a matter of time before he needs to leave his home, but he is having a hard time with the actual leaving part. He likes to tinker and fuss around the house and grounds when he can. We had a nice chat though.
Other then that, I've been enjoying the day. Took Saxon for his daily walk to per doctors orders. We need to get about 20#'s off his big butted frame. He lost 10 just being in prescription food but know I need to get him to move more. He was starting to get sore in the worst of his "bad" knees and was starting to limp half way through our walk. Then he saw dogs, bicyclists, and a donkey shaped lawn ornament and that all threw him into doggie overload. When he got home, he ran outside barked at the squirrels then came in and passed out. For being an Aussie sometimes I wonder where his brain is hiding......

Well, dh came home...now I wonder if I can get him to take me to lunch.....Maybe got get a Shamrock Shake at McDonalds.....yum!
