Joe apparently my coons are smarter than yours, or my traps suck! They know how to get the food out with out tripping it. OR they can actually get out of them. I had a great b!tch session at one coon caught in the trap. Told it all about my chickens being murdered and how I didn't care if he did it or not, it was toast. By the time morning rolled around when my dh went to shoot it, it was GONE. Explain That to me.. They come down as families to eat our cat food. I caught 3 of them in the cat house the other night. Not a single one died! GGGRRRRRRR!

I gotta see a picture of this trap that they can escape from. Coon trapping knowledge or help for ducks? just kidding, but I would gladly help you catch coon.

I wish I could go back outside and see if I caught more, but is was only an hour ago I shot the first 4.

Good Morning/Evening all !!

Got home from the graduation about an hour ago. I'm beat to say the least. I did all the driving, about 354 miles round trip.

Anyway, update on horse. I called the woman today and asked if she got the saddle from her cousin in Rhinelander. She was suppose to bring it to her yesterday. She said she was bringing it today (Sunday). So I will call her tomorrow.
I asked her if her husband brought the horse water that night and she said yep and a bale of hay.

I'm planning on calling her tomorrow to see if I can come look at the saddle (excuse to go see her again) and then I'm going to bring the horse some treats and make sure I have some water with me in case he doesn't have any.
I stopped at Walmart tonight and got some carrots too.

My plan right now is to stay in touch with her and on friendly terms. I'll check out the saddle and if it's something I can use I'll see what she wants for it and the horse. If it's totally out of line I'm going to offer to help her find a home. Offer to put him on CL etc. That way more people will see him and WHEN it gets reported she won't know who reported her.
I wish the horse was advertised, it would make it a lot easier to report it. The problem is like i said, there is no way you can see this horse from the road and the driveway is Loooonnnng and it is on HWY 45 so I don't think you could sneak this horse out. Plus who knows if he would load, that would get attention for sure.
I put an ad on CL searching for his previous owner. Said I am considering buying the horse and would like more background info. My neighbor said years ago he delivered 60 bales of hay to this womans place and the horse looked old then.. Who knows how old this poor fellow is really. She may have gotten an old horse to begin with. No excuse for the sores on his face and the goopy eyes though.

Hopefully it will be a bit cooler on Monday. Tuesday is suppose to be much cooler.

Keep your fingers crossed for my tomorrow. So far she acts like she likes me (she may see dollar signs hey) (little does she know this bank is broke lol)

Had a wonderful time at the party. My nephew is so dear to my heart. He deserves happiness in his life. He was only 7 yrs old when my parents were murdered. They babysat him since his was born and were like second parents to him. Then just prior to their murder his parents (my brother and his wife) got divorced. Poor poor nephew lost so much in such a short time.
I'll never forget he asked his mom if bad guy stole the lincoln logs that he always played with my dad. She said no. Then he asked if there was blood on them. It broke my heart and still does. I kept thinking the whole way down there that my Mom and Dad would be so proud of him. They should have been here for this. I picked out a card for him that reminded me of them.

Whenever my parents babysat my Mom would call me up and say "The little Man is here" and I'd come over and play with Eli. I kept hearing her voice saying those words today. So I guess they were there today, in spirit.

My SIL had several pictures posted and there were some of Eli with my Mom and Dad that I had never seen. Priceless !!

So this party was for my X SIL's family. On the 23rd I go to Racine to my Brothers house to another party for Eli and his step brother who also graduates. Most likely a fish fry. YUM !!

Ok, well I had better take my ambien so I get up before noon. I don't sleep well after a long drive. My neuropathy's in my hands and arms drive me nuts.

I'll keep you all posted on the horse. Don't worry, I will not give up. I just don't want to be arrested or make an enemy with someone like that. I've been warned by the neighor about her.

Smelled the odor of a skunk in the back yard today! It wasn't very strong so I hope it was across the field! Storkey's chicks are picking on Jasmine's chicks... hope they get over it soon!

I think your approach with the "horse lady" is amazing! A real stroke of genius! Boy, if you can get pics of the horse posted! Just a thought. If this poor guy really is that old, I wonder when was the last time he had his teeth floated (if ever). That could be at least one explanation for his being thin for so long. That still doesn't let her off the hook for his overall condition. Poor old guy. If you can't take care of them, you give them to someone who can.

Know what you mean about long drives/rides. If I don't stop once in a while, I can barely get out of the car when I get where I'm going (got the neuropathy thing too

but mine has actually gotten a little better in the past few months,long as I take my drugs that is~better living thru modern chemistry!

Don't know what to say about your family history except I cannot imagine the pain. You are one strong woman!!!!!

Good Wet Morning Everyone! Forgot to put the rain gage back out after mowing but don't think we got that much. The garden sure is likin the weather! Think the carrots grew 3". My cousin sent me a stupid joke about Mitt and Obama ice fishin for the presidency. I've threatened her with blocking because of all the political and religious crap she was sending. So I E'd her back and told her I knew it was a lie because Mitt doesn't fish but he knows people that own lakes.

Think if the clouds stay I'll weed for awhile. Better go let the monsters out!

Lost a Blue Copper Maran Pullet yesterday. It was the pretty all blue one with the copper washed out.

I wish I knew what the cause was. Healthy one day laying on the floor of the coop the next.

None of the new birds this year like to go in the run... Not for treats, not if I put them out there. Nothing.

When I clean the coop tonight I may try to figure that one out. If it isn't raining.

Well I ended up getting 5 coon last night. 4 of 5 were sows so that will really lower the coon population around the yard. I wish they would stay away until end of October so I could put them to use and get paid for them!

I was really happy to get woke up by rain this morning, finally do not have to water the garden tonight.

Got back last night from a short weekend in ER (that's Eagle River, not the emergency room!) Did a little splashing in the WI River, DS caught a big fish, and had some good vittles. Hadn't been up there since Christmas, it was time.

Ken, I lost a Jaerhon hen like that last fall, I think she ran into the wall and snapped her neck. Chooks invent ways to die when all other efforts fail.

Please Lord let rain hit us today. Every storm has veered around us like we have the plague or something. Gardens are well watered but the lawn is brown.
