Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

OK dvang you have been put on my bad people list!

OMG are they ever purty! [Tiki's been on the list for a long time.] So FT what time are you gonna be here for the rescue? Think 3 of them are Australorp mixes if not pure. Yes those white ears on Sparky might be his saving grace. Would really like to breed him back into the flock. Hmmm

I love roos too but it is just too stressful for the hens and the roos to have so many roos fighting.

Hahaha ! NO ! How do I come off that list?! Lol
Thank you :) Are you sure you don't want the younger onessss ? LOL

dvang your phoenix all beautiful!

I don't know who asked about the serama but~ I have one serama and she is not as small as my oegbantams. They do ok in the coop but my coop is usually warm enough that the water is not frozen. In the winter it is good to have fresh air for the chickens.

I have always wanted a Malinois but doubt I would be able to keep up with it. lol That is super cool that you do search and rescue.
Thank you much!
Sadly I don't have enough hens!

Hey Wisconsinites!
Just thought I would share with you guys my 3 phoenix roos which I need NEED NEED NEED not want... NEED to get rid of
I have too many right now and my parents are not too happy with me. Too many roosters is too much drama.
If you are interested please contact me by PMing me. I am asking for at least $30 for each bird. I am located near Wisconsin Rapids.
They are phoenix chickens. The top one is a "Dirty Silver" (Golden Duckwing), then the middle one is a Pyle Red Splash (Very unique rare color) and the bottom one is a Blue Golden Duckwing. They have a lot of potential to have long tails. The older generation of these birds tails are reaching nearly 4 ft long. These guys are only a year or a year and half. I bought them from somebody who did not take good care of them. They had mite issues and a lot of plucked feathers. I bathed them and smothered them with diatomaceous earth, which fixed the mite issue. So please help me and give the birds a good home!
JUST REQUOTING MYSELF SO OTHERS CAN SEE WHAT I HAVE FOR SALE :)

Hey Tiki,
If you want to sell or rehome your serama.. I have a roo who could use a date! LOL

I have spotty internet till tomorrow, thank god for Mcdonalds!!

Sorry I haven't been on...

So.. ..
I NEED HELP!!! (not THAT kind of help, although many of my friends and relatives think I need THAT too!! LOL)
Two friends need to get rid of their goats.
AND yes I tried TO, FT and BF4Me.
the 1st friend, he has two Olberhasi wethers, about 2 yrs old, tie, lead, tie out, and do well in an enclosure they can't crawl under IE the fence, one got out and ate his wifes new rasberry bushes. They have been around cats, dogs and horses...
They need to be gone by Saturday, I may be able to take them for a SHORT while but they will need to go!!

The 2nd friend needs to rehome 1 alpine doe who may not be breedable, either that or she hates the buck she is in with.. (according to this friend it can happen). The doe is about 3 yrs old.
She also wants to sell/give away the other 2 goats, she will give the buck away, but needs to sell the breedable, has been milked alpine doe. This doe has been in a stand, and hand milked, she kidded out 1 kid last year, and this year kidded 2 doelings, but my friend didn't have a heat lamp OR a proper barn so they perished in the cold soon after being born.
These goats have been around but not in with pigs, cattle, and horses, they have been around poultry and done just fine with them.

Both sets of goats are just south of Madison, I can haul a little ways to meet if need be....
PLEASE help, cross post, call neighbors and friends!!
And call me, I won't be able to get back online till tomorrow, most likely.

Good early evening! Man I can tell I worked all day....way too much to catch up on again!
First--welcome to cheeseheads DVang! Nice roos you have there. I have one Phoenix here and it looks like DrH has hatched one of his sons! LOL--BTW DrH...nice looking roos! I think I have some that look just like yours!

If you dont have a heavy roo in your coop you should definitely keep at least one of those beauties! Too bad you didnt post earlier that you had them..I had folks here yesterday that wanted black roos! Mine were a tad old for them or a tad young! Could have had some $$$ for them! Oh well, day late and a dollar short!
Then I had another guy looking for red roos! Yeah too old again but he liked the color a lot so he took him anyhow. H&R I believe it was "Boygl" that he took. I thought they wanted blacks so that is what I bred for! Sheesh--talk about that dollar short! Bator is up and running again--I am setting black Ams, Cuckoo Marans and Wellies this time. I figure I will be able to tell those chicks apart...I hope.

FT you better get your butt on here and give us the next installment of "As the Stable Turns!" I agree with whomever said you left us just like a series does--on a cliff-hanger!

Dan, try me tomorrow...I will be home until noon...
Carol, I could have sold those boys for you on Friday...I got a call for goats today while I was saying goodbye to my client. Which went very well BTW! We got all the appointments in on time and I feel like I am on board with the troubles now. Now I can start to help.

Well, I guess I oughta go out and lock up. I want to take Commander out for a ride tonight too. Carol and I didnt get to go the other day so it looks like tonight is the night...Sure wish I had a close by buddy...hey MXM--you are the closest....whatcha doin' tonite? LOL!
Later--Terri O

Evening all!
Just checking in! Had a fun filled day of Dog Baths. All eight are clean and brushed (more or less!) and smell terrific! They all look so good! It took a few hours to get them all done. I kinda wish I had waited for a hotter day to bathe that ones that needed to get done with the garden hose. Our well water gets frigid! But they all survived and are having fun rolling is stuff that really does not need to be rolled in! I'm contemplating on shaving the Aussie Bears. Ely has a coat that is easier to maintain but Saxie has this triple coat kinda thing going on and it's a pain to brush out.
He also has these little ringlets around his ruff and he looks so cute. Like a little Irish Dancer Girl! LOL!!

Anyway, I think I'll weed the garden tomorrow. And do laundry....

Welcome to all the newbies! Love the Phoenix roos. Especially your Silver Duck Wing. Simply beautiful!

DrH-you have some nice roos! I bet that they would be tasty in a stew or BBq' Beer Can Style!! One you have looks to be part Asil but it might be they way he is standing.

WCc-to bad I can't have goats. I'd take those Oberhasi's in a heart beat! I love the way those goats look. Maybe someday when I have a bigger place.....

OOOOOooooo Frenchie!!! Where are yooooooooooou? We need the next episode of "As the Stable Turns"!

Ok, the doggies are barking at the car show people who are in the park...best go get them!
Later!
