Wood burning stove fiasco

Wow. Just wow. Is the installation of a pellet stove that much different? Fire, air intake needed, smoke has to go somewhere, and heat. I don't know if the requirements are different, so maybe someone can chime in here?
Not sure. We specifically did not want a pellet stove because we live in a very wooded area and want to use our wood.

I doubt the requirements are that much different for ventilation. My wood stove has air intake flaps on the front which are opened manually. Of all the wood stoves I've seen, I've never seen one with a DRYER HOSE hooked up to it!
This particular model has a Burn Rate Air Control lever and an ACC (Automatic Combustion Control) knob. All are manual for controlling air intake. I'm still reading through the manual but it is VERY confusing. There's a total of 6 settings plus the blower fan

Yes the exhaust is metal and the dryer pipe is air intake. According to the install manual the air intake pipe needs to be rated for 350 degrees Fahrenheit. You know...not a dryer pipe. Either way the exhaust is fine. The pipes outside are dented though. And we paid for those to be brand spankin new.
Is the inside the house chimney pipe double wall? Outside triple wall? Do you have pics of the chimney?

Not sure what all that means...this was my fiancee's endeavour. The chimney goes up and outside of the house. We had an existing chimney but we plan to remove it when we redo the roof which is why we opted for outside installation instead. I don't have pics right now. My internet is slow on my mobile until my plan re-ups so it takes forever to upload.

Why do they have to complicate simple things like that...
It's not a very long manual but I'm having trouble making heads or tails out of it. I'm having to re-read things after I read them because they don't compute. I'm sure once I start using the thing it might makes sense but right now since I can't use it it's all gobbledy gook

My basic understanding so far is:
Open air controls to High
Load wood
Add newspaper
Add kindling
Light
Close door
Add more wood
Close door
Set to desired heat output
This was on page 2 of 25
