Wood burning stove fiasco

I don't have a wood stove, but I do have a really good Harman pellet stove. My air intake looks similar to dryer vent ducting but clearly looks more like steel than aluminum. I hope you are able to get this resolved soon. Around here it's the fire department that gives final approval to operate the stove, so perhaps check with them when you get the installation sorted out.

Heres the installation manual:

I probably could have typed that all faster than it took me to load it

I burn wood all year. You do not need an outside air intake, but you can have one.

First off, that exhaust tube would catch fire even for a pellet stove. A pellet stove just needs to go outside and up a couple feet. It needs to be isolated from combustibles, which it wasn't either.

You need a "Class A" chimney. I show what I did and I use DureVent chimney pipe. It is triple wall pipe and must maintain a 2" clearance from all combustibles and be high enough on the roof line to meet code clearances for draft.

Any updates? How is it working out?
We went to the store and complained. They insisted the pipe was correct but said that they SHOULD NOT have installed dented pipe. They were supposed to call us back and give us a refund but never did. We ended up using the stove and it works great but still no refund in sight

Wild! Glad it's working out for you, minus the shitty customer service.
We shoukd be getting at least 800 bucks back. My issue is I'd much rather have the pipe replaced with new pipe that isnt dented. Either way we wont be going back there and we most certainly wont recommend them to anyone

Write a google review of them. I do and you'd be surprised when they inform you how many people read them.

I haven't read through this whole thread so I apologize if this was suggested but have you tried contacting a chimney sweep company? Not only do they clean chimneys but most can tell you the proper way to hook everything up. I've grown up with wood stoves and have a wood insert for both my fireplaces, on two different floors. It's the only heat my husband and I use. Hope everything works out for you, wood heat is so relaxing and much warmer than furnace heat
