Our ladies are 23 weeks old as of yesterday 1/12. I went out this morning and looked in there nesting boxes and there was a circle in the hay and in the middle was this little brown egg.

I was so happy I had to call hubby at work. We have 3 EE, 1 GLW, 1 SLW, and 2 BA.

Here is the egg weighing in at 1.66 oz (47.0g)

All I know is that both the Wyandottes and Australorps lay brown eggs and possibly the EE.

Congrats on the first egg!!! Taking a wild guess but probably Foxy or the GLW would look to the most likely as far as maturity goes. One of mt GLW's looked about like yours when she started laying at 24 weekks and egg fits desription too. May have to watch the gitrls a bit to see how they act. Is any of them squatting?

My guess would be a BA. Mine was my first to lay.

Foxy looks just like my Big Bertha. I'd bet money on her.
