World Egg Day Hatchalong!(October 12, 2012 is World Egg Day!)

Oh, and I'm not sure as I have never had either of these breeds, but the little brown one could definatly be a D'Uccle, and I would say serama for the other just because of how tiny it is and Seramas are the smallest breed that I know of. I think a few people were hatching Serama eggs so hopefully someone can tell you for sure, does the little yellow one have feathered legs too?

Candled last night: Out of 15, we have 11 that I am pretty sure are fertile. It still makes my heart race every time :O)

Hi all, just candled end of day 7 ,1 clear in australorps as suspected ,rest doing great.

Sounds like everyone is coming along pretty well! I candled again and I still have one out of the ten good ones (15 days along now) that looks suspicious and I have 18-20 out of the second set (8 days along today) that are doing well. I say 18-20 because a couple are either "maybe" or too thich shelled to tell for sure.

My mystery chicks hatched today!!! So I am posting a couple of photos to see if anyone can identify these. They came from a bantum show.

One of my mystery chickens hatched over night and the other two have pips! I wasn't expecting anything until Sunday! Here it is so...................What do I have with this 4 toed cutie???

(Sorry so blurry I was in a hurry.)

So itty bitty my Silkies are quadruple this size. Maybe a Serema?

Feathered foot D'Uccle?

All yellow long pink legs

Left egg really small the the feathered chick is the smallest chick. The other two were from the larger tan egg.

Thanks for any guess you have!
That black one looks more like a Silkie mix to me, with black beak, skin, and feet. I'd not suspect Serama, but you'll be able to tell better once they start feathering in and standing up a bit more. It could be a Japanese mix, too...they are super small. Give them a week or two to start looking more like what they might be :D

I just candled again, and they are so wiggly almost like they're all dancing to the same tune only I can't hear it! LOL, OMG, so cute to see and only what? 8 days along? Life is so amazing, reminds me of being pregnant and having such active babies inside me, LOVED that!

Happy memories LOL

Wow just noticed this thread, if I'm not completely wrong (and I might) mine should be due 12 October! Lot of hiccups so far and strange things, I hope I'll succeed!

My fingers are crossed for you! Hope they all hatch! I'm so anxious right now about my serama hatch, not World Egg Day hatch, they're doing great, but the seramas are in 3 days now and I'm a nervous wreck! Last batch didn't make it, but this batch looks like I have quite a few developing, just have to keep them going now!
