Yes, it's possible to have 2 feather-legged parents & get clean-legged chicks. It happens on occasion even in FBCM, Salmon Favs & even an occasional Silkie or Cochin. It doesn't mean your birds aren't pure, it just means at least 1 parent was carrying the gene for clean legs.

Also, I just happened to find this thread & remembered I have a couple batches of eggs that were set on 9/21. That means I'll have World Egg Day hatchlings too!!!

Welcome to the thread Glad you could join us this is getting exciting I candled my eggs a few minutes ago and they are moving around pretty good in there so hoping for all 3 of mine to hatch I started with 5 for this hatch but 1 was infertal and 1 was a quiter but all looks good have you candled yours how many do you have I have 14 eggs total

Awesome! Thanks so much! Sounds like you've got some really cool birds! Just curious, would you be willing to send them out this fall, I have more eggs coming after world hatch day so they wouldn't be alone. I would love to have them in the spring just as much, but since my incubator will still be running, I thought I'd mention it. Thanks again!

Ugh, I'm so busy trying to finish this coop, I can't seem to find the time to take pictures! I put the camera out, thinking when I take a break, I'd see if I could snap a photo, but I'm so dead, I can't do that much, LOL. I want to finish it tomorrow so that I can put the chicks inside, they're growing literally every day and are WAY to crowded in there! Thursday it's supposed to rain, so I can't really let them loose in the back yard... or is rain troublesome? 70 degrees with thundershowers? Would that be OK for them?

Nah, I really have to finish the coop tomorrow, Friday I need the brooder for the next batch o birds! Ugh!

hi all - nearly the end of day 18 for me, so removed turner ,put eggs in cut down cartons & lifted humidity to 60 % - 20 eggs -10 light sussex ,10 australorp .now cross my fingers that they all hatch ok
