World Egg Day Hatchalong!(October 12, 2012 is World Egg Day!)

Now that it's almost finished (still need to do roof and big doors) I'm glad it's turning out stable and pretty ok :) But I'm procrastinating going out there today, I'm so pooped! I just had breakfast, looking here for a bit, then I best get my butt out that door, LOL. (oh, I did have to buy supplies, so did shop already, that's something I guess, LOL)

cindersga, I have no idea what breed those cuties are, but the pictures are adorable!!!

I had a dream last night that all my chicks unexpectedly hatched, when I looked in both incubators (remember one has only two eggs in it) they will filled to the brim with chicks begging to get out, and I had no place to put them!

Luckily my chick order at Ideal has been delayed a week.

Thanks, fate, I needed that ! LOL

Chicken dreams aka nightmares, LOL

Thanks they are cute babies and it's like Christmas, you don't know what you got until the package is opened!

Here you go:

JUST THE 4TH TOE AND SOME UP THE LEG.

THAT ISN'T A CROOKED TOE IT'S A FEATHER, HA

THE BEAUTIFUL FEATHER COLORINGS
So after looking at the two varieties, Cochins and Buff Brahma, I think it's the Brahma because the Cochins look to only have three toes and this bird has four like the Brahma. If it is a Brahma I'm very excited as they are beautiful birds.

Yeah, I really want to say that the little guy is a buff brahma by looking at the foot feathering and the color of the fluff. But the color of the wings look more like gold laced or partridge cochin and not so much like brahma. And cochins have 4 toes as well. So it's a tie, hahaha.

Cochins & Brahmas both have 4 toes. The feathers will tell. Give them another week or so & if it gets a columbian pattern around the neck it's a brahma. If it gets more lacing it's a gold laced cochin.

The chick looks like he/she has a beard though...I was thinking Belgian Quail d'Anver until you mentioned the feathered feet. Maybe some kind of d'Uccle unless the fluffy beard goes away when it grows up.

What is it with chicken feet? I LOVE them! I like to massage my chikie's feetsies, they're so SWEET!

Something tells me I'm completely bizarre and weird, well I always knew I was, but does anyone else out there find chicken feet totally adorable?

Even as they're growing, I still love 'em

I quite admire chicken feet as well :) BTW how do you show the location that you're at? I went to My Profile, then clicked on both "edit profile" and "edit account details" and I can't find it.
