Hello Everyone,
I live in Spain and my vet has given me a wormer for my hens and turkeys.
I have looked/googled for the last few hours because I need to know if I can still eat the eggs during my hens treatment?
the following link says only that you cannot eat any chickens after treatment for 2 days.....
nothing about the eggs though ??????

the spanish name is ....Piperacina syva polvo......

It is called piperazine or Waine here. It kills only roundworms. Treatment should be repeated in 10 days, and eggs should probably be tossed for 30 days altogether, although I can't find anthing that says that is a researced, verifiable answer. Be sure you don't try to hatch any eggs while treating. Here is more information. In the Us, wormers which are sold for use in cattle and sheep are used on chickens, in order to get all the various types of worms, because piperazine is the only wormer approved for chickens here, too. Vets, however, routinely recommend using other wormers -- or members take advice from other members here and use other wormers.
