I didn't enjoy red sexlinks. I found them to be overly aggressive, heavy food consumers, and prone to dying frequently at young ages. As far as layers go, I far prefer White Leghorns. They still don't live as long as my others, but they seem to eat less, and are far better in a free-range situation; they survive among the predators longer, and forage more of their food.
My (limited) experienced with Silver Laced Wyandottes was also negative.
What was your experience like with the Wyandotte?

How has now one mentioned Cornish x?! Lay in their own filth, try to consume each other, try to consume me, die suddenly, eat more food than anything I've ever seen, life expectancy of 8 weeks. Give me any healthy chicken breed, with a decent lifespan, reasonable laying, and weight at butcher!
Are they super bad?:( I want to get a few of them for consumption.

What are the worst chicken breeds you've ever owned?
It can be stories from you, family, or friends. Please share your thoughts and experiences!

There isn't a lot of "Worst Breeds" Threads out there, so i decided make a new one!! :)

The chicken breed i find to be the worst is the classic White Leghorn. Their attitude, shape, and color i'm all not a fan of. I gave them a chance once, but they didn't stay long.
Buff Orpington. They’re mean, evil chickens. Plus, they’re kinda ugly 😅

Is your Silkie male Vaulted Skulled? I avoid those, due to them being more fragile in the head.
He might be, I can't tell after they're grown. I didn't have a choice on getting vaulted or jot since they're hatcheries. I prefer the vaulted ones though personally and now that they're separated from other breeds, I don't have to worry about another drilling peck.

I only get none Vaulted from TSC/Hoover's. Never got a Vaulted Skulled one from them.

I have some wyndottes, I did have 3, columbian, golden, and bluelaced wyandotte. I rehomed my columbian, because she was my favorite, and a sweet girl, but the other hens figured out if they peck her she would bleed. The home I gave her had five hens tops so I thought it would be more gentle. Also I gave that home a White crested polish for the same reason. I am sure they are doing better there.

Well, its not a chicken breed but I really dont like guineas. They are ugly, loud, and agressive. They are also as dumb as rocks and really flighty. I used to have a couple guineas and they would constantly chase and attack the younger chickens and even the older ones too. Then one day I came out to check on my chickens and I heard this awful squealing noise coming from the other side of the coop. When I went to check it out it was not a good sight to see. My bantam hen was laying on the ground unable to move with the guinea viciously pecking and biting her. She was very weak and screaming in pain and all of the other chickens were just standing back watching. I separated her and spent my last few moments with her before she died. Never again did I have guineas.
