Keep that information in your rcords, seriously!! Name, if possible, date time, circumstances-- what prompted the customer to say that. If no name, description phsically and if a regular customer. It was so bad yesterday morning Arielle I almost walked out the door for good. I have told the owners how much I like working for them before. They know I am willing to jump in and help at any time they need me, they have seen me jump in and start bagging or checking customer through even when I was clocked out.
I actually had a customer tell me that this floor super and other co-worker are the reason the store cannot keep people. Customer will not tell the owners though. I wish they would.
WHen in the heat of talking to the owners, you really do need to bring up exactly what you mentioned above, THat is a very important aspect of presenting your information. IT is like going in for an anuual review, to remind your boss what you are worth to the company and business. THey will not remember that you jumped into help when clocked out, when the others start throwing around accusations against you. You do need to have specifics about how much you care about the job and how you help the customers.
If you really care about this company and the job, you can show the owners this by not giving into these poor workers, and help the owners see what is happening---
Gee, they need that TV show that puts up hidden cameras to find out what is going on when absent!!
I can't foresee the outcome of all this, but if you are near to quitting, then you have nothing to lose at this point and possible a great deal more to gain.
