Wounded cayuga duckling

Can you pluck this area?

Oh boy, I’ve never been tagged before haha.
Obviously it’s infected, but it’s hard to tell from photos where to go with it. I don’t think making an incision further down will drain anything but blood. An infection has to collect enough fluid for that to work properly and this doesn’t look like it’s collecting much. If it were me (I keep having to say that because I’m scared of backlash, hehe), I would continue with a high dosage of antibiotics. Definitely shave or pluck the area casportpony circled and post some pictures.
I don’t personally see indication it will slough off but the feathers make it hard to tell. Pulling out the scab and flushing it is a good call. Peroxide is not effective and harmful at worst, go buy some betadine and start using that instead. I was going to suggest lancing the area where the scab is and doing some soaks and massages to see if anything would come out, but it looks better in the last photo so probably not.

Thanks everyone for your input. Sorry I dropped out like that. Was dealing with eggs hatching. But anyway. I moved her outside yesterday to see if the extra running room helped with her limp. And this morning she looks so good hardy a limp. And she is fast lol. The redness is gone. I have a vet appointment at 1. We will see, I'm thinking shes completely fine
