I've worked as a technical writter, so I've written a lot, but most of it is stuff you'll never see.
used to write for several dance trade journals, had a ton of articles published.
2 books in work right now, just need to FOCUS to get one of them finished.
got a couple of really nice rejection letters from publishers on a couple of manuscripts
I love to write and am starting my first serious writing project after Christmas. I'm finally going to write that book that everyone's been telling me to write for the better part of my life!
What genres do you guys work with? I'm not really sure what I'd like to write. I enjoy reading crime thrillers, but I'm not sure I'd be able to write a decent one. I'm thinking I'll start with a short story, but sometimes those are the hardest!

yep, took my first class in (dare I say it?) 1975 or 76, been teaching for over 30 years, had a big website presence (first or second largest in the world) for the first 7 or so years of the internet. used to write for all the belly dance journals and I wrote a chapter for a book on the art published about 10 years ago. won a national competition in 2000... well, there were a few international competitors too, but not many. I've just moved and once I get settled, I'll start teaching again.
so one book in work is on history of the dance and how to.
the other is sort of my personal evolution... "Twenty Seven Costumes" its the story of the dance, my experiences with it, and how it changed, enlightend and healed me, with each chapter told from the perspective of one of my costumes.
sort of "zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance" if it were written from within my costume closet.
