Lovely pictures Bob, I like the flowers! Can you harvest the almonds?
The almonds may or may not be edible. Some sites say they are edible while other sites say they have too much cyanide in them. It may depend on the individual bush. The fortunate thing is that if the almonds have too much cyanide in them, they will be very bitter. A small taste will not be harmful.

All sites claim they are good for the wildlife.

Look who was waiting on the deck for me this morning.

Later in the day, my neighbor came over to get tomato plants. Somehow the little turd found its way into the greenhouse and was standing in tray of water.

This time it made no effort to resist being picked up and seemed happy to be out of the water. Of course it held its mouth wide open waiting for food.

I put it on the opposite end of the deck. At first it refused to let go of my finger and get on the deck rail. It wasn't long before it flew down into the apple tree but its landings need a lot of improvement. It ended up fluttering the whole way down through the tree until it was on the ground. Of course it had to take out a columbine blossom on the way down.

Turd bird decided it wasn't good enough to be in the greenhouse this afternoon. It felt the need to come in the house.

I leave the upper window out of the screen door to the deck. Goofball got stuck down in between the storm door and the door. I could hear something but when I went out I couldn't find anything but kept hearing it chirp. Going back in I already had the door open before I saw it so it flew right on in.

Its development is farther along now so instead of just holding its mouth open for food, it was trying to swallow my thumb while I was carrying it out. It is also flying much better. When I put it on the deck railing, it flew about 60' straight across and landed in a Russian Olive tree.

Turd Bird is an interesting addition to your collection of birds Bob :gig
Hopefully that will be the last incident. There are so many young robins around now that it is getting hard to tell which is which.

It appears that the neighbors did away with the feral cat that was living here. The young of the year now have a much better chance of surviving.
