Double yolkers develop into twin embryos, and on a rare occasion, can hatch multiple chicks. However, in most cases, one or both die during development, or during hatch.Ouch! I've never seen an egg that size. Amazing!!
I'm curious, would an egg that size hatch? Because if that's not a double yolk... I assume the chick would have to get THAT big to be able to hatch and absorb all the yolk? Would it be able to hatch at the right time? Would it be better or worse for the chick? How would that work?
I know. There have been up to nine yolks found in one egg before.
