yeah!! I just set my eggs

I have two babies, doing well. I had one that was pipped since yesterday. I knew it was time to help a bit. So, it is opened, and at least breathing well. Decided to go ahead and open the others, I usually have a lot more pips going on, so I knew something was up..yep, 4 dead. One had a crooked beak..and get this..only one eye! Now that's a new one to me. Thinking I should let the breeder know about it. Not sure if that's a genetic thing or what.
So, if the two that I have opened and are breathing well, make it, that will make 4 out of 8 that made. I usually get a much higher rate.

I haven't had to help chicks in a loong time. I'll be getting out the electrolytes by tonight. That stuff is great to have on hand. They usually do real well with that little bit of help.
I hope my New Hampshires do better!

I just found this thread and it was like reading a suspense novel

I loved following you guys with your hatches and seeing the new babies. I am ordering my incubator tonight and will be ready to put it to use after Christmas, this will be my first hatch and Im going to need you guys to help me through it. There has been lots of long nights on here doing research and getting myself prepared.
Great Job everyone, the babies look amazing!

Here are my 4 that made it. Thought the two that I helped out would be on their sides for a while, but I made it so they would have to struggle a bit on their own, and they were up and about on their feet.

You can tell the first one out, then the yellow splash one.
