YO GEORGIANS! :)

I have 5 poults that hatched from bargain's (Nancy's) eggs and they are doing great! Two were even showing off the other day! They're three weeks old. I'll have to post pics on the 2011 poults page. I think I'm hooked on turkeys now!

OH ok! I love finding birds nests and watching the babies. Good night! I will have to read the housekeeping thread LOL. I don't allow visitors without at least a weeks notice, and even that's not nearly enough time!!!

Enjoy your fresh baked pies tomorrow!

LOL.. I love the "I don't allow visitors without at least a week's notice".. THAT IS SO ME.. My wonderful husband knows that there is nothing that puts me in panic mode quicker than "so and so are on their way..they will be here in 30 minutes" Our trouble is this - packrats should not marry packrats.. but love conquers all...

She was my best broody! I've been trying to snake-proof the brooder, but a snake always seems to find its way in. I'm about to do some seriuos remodeling to my brooder before I get new poults.

I had two showing out. They were just over two weeks here. Today was their first day outside. Every time they saw me, they'd start crying. Then at one point, I looked down and one was following me out of their side of the yard! When it was bedtime, they all marched back into their crate, and I put them in the "garage" (my "new" barn, LOL)
I'm gonna say, I am happy they are out of the house! Out of all my critters, including my greenwing macaw, they were the ones that would wake me up. Every time one of them wandered into a corner or jumped the baby fence, it would start crying. One was standing in a corner between the crate and a piece of cardboard. Just standing there, apparently all day! I have to do frequent head counts. I feel like I'm back with my toddler class of kids! And now that they have a little play yard outside, I'm really gonna have to keep an eye on them. I'll make sure I put them up if it rains, right, Nancy? LOL!
Still, I love 'em. Maybe because they remind me of my kids. Everything is new to them, and as dumb as they seem, you can see when a little light bulb goes off in their heads and they "get" something for the first time!

Feathering well and looking very good!!! Congrats!!!! Anyone who hasn't been bitten by the love bug of little turkeys, should just see how quickly they imprint to you...TYVM for those lovely pictures Carla~ Hugs to you and your family, Nancy....
