The ones with Vaseline only are fine- I only ever put a tiny dot. It's the ones I had to dunk their bottoms to de-paste them. And I dried them as well as I could, didn't want to stress them anymore than I had already and I was also nervous about messing with the vent area too much more. Ugh! So mad at me lol.

In the meantime I had put the three I cleaned back into the shoebox I had taken them to the kitchen in. Came back and one had pushed its head thru the half-circle hole at the top and I had to get scissors and have DS help me cut it out.

Next my freaking brooder temp has suddenly dropped. The bulb won't even get it to 92* now which is prob Wy pasty in the first place.

Hubby has gone for stronger bulbs now (which I SAID I needed before they hatched but this one worked fine at first)

Shew. Anyway, they have all conked out now. I pray they can dry while they sleep and I for come home to a crime scene!

@valleychicks - THANKS so much for your help. Sorry, just freakin out a little.

GAM, better come get your chicks before I kill them all.

We all freak out, well most all of us do anyway when it comes to our chicks/chickens and pets. I usually just run warm water and stick their butts under the faucet then use a hair dryer to blow dry them. They usually fall asleep while getting dried I guess due to the nice warm air. I've had one do a beak dive when falling asleep before. LOL! Sorry I just now got back to you. I've been outside trying to redo the broody brooder area in our bigger coop. The mamas decided they just didn't want the nest box table in the area anymore and took all the nesting material out of it. They put it all on the floor and then sat down for the chicks to go under them.

I thought it was an accident that they did it so I fixed the nest back up only for them to undo it immediately. Now the area just has the straw mix and food/water. They keep kicking the straw mix into the food and water while teaching the chicks to look for food. UGH! I hope the chicks are able to eat/drink enough.
