Look at your cute Silkie Butts!!! Love those little balls of softness. Thanks for sharing this. How are you doing?

I don't want a bunch of roos either but my silkies are sure looking that way. I'll take some pictures later and let you see what you think. Skippy still has a hard time just getting by with me outside with him (definitely a roo though) and Little Bit doesn't have a care in the world. She just doesn't care if she gets her hat picked out or if she gets chased. She gets her revenge. If they spook her, she hops across the run like leap frog going across chicken backs.

They all look around like what in the world was that. Little Bit just struts by like she's all that while they're still trying to figure her out. lol.
Little Bit is my kind of chick!!!

Doing ok- lots of work, these animals I have! It's worth it to see a pasture with my old horses, happy dogs and cats. Little chooks to set up a chair in with them and watch :) Hope you're ok, too. How are those Catdance Silkies? -Pam

Chickster99, bring on the side and front pics for those silkies and I'll try to identify. But try here and think what you see!

Well, this afternoon in addition to reg farm activities, I bathed, filed and observed what I had thought was a boy........Now Will You All tell me what you think??????

And here's another.

I could be wrong but those beginning streamers and that puffed out chest scream BOY! and her/his behavior... S/he ran all over the house when I set her/him down after the hair dryers was done.... Reminded me of little kids when they get out of the bath. Well good chatting, pecans need gathering and goats milked and a look see at the babies that hatched and see how they are doing.... Have a great evening. y'all!

Hey Pam - no, Ellijay in Gilmer County, No. Ga. But love getting to know BYC keepers anywhere in Ga. Recently spoke with Elaine at Mountain View Farms about getting some POL pullets next spring. We also spoke of getting together and visiting Taylor Hobby Farms in Dalton. The idea of visiting fellow farms in Georgia would be a great way to get to know everyone. Have a fabulous weekend!

That sounds great!

Can you get a better picture of its comb? These are too blurry for my eyes to see well enough. I bet it smells wonderful too.

How old is she/he? My silkie roos are trying to crow now at 2 months. So funny too. They try to crow & shake their little heads...clear their throats as if to say "wait, hang on let me try one that again."

I really can't tell by this pic. I want to say that this one looks like a roo, but I always miss.

I'll have to get the pics up tomorrow after work. The white ones looked so dirty this afternoon. They were all having a blast playing in the freshly plowed dirt in the field by the house. I just watched them and laughed at them. That was the first time that my husband had plowed close enough to the pen where I was comfortable to let them out to play. They loved it. I stayed out there with them and was beginning to wonder if we were going to spend the night in the field. lol.
