YO GEORGIANS! :)

How old? I need a replacement Dorothy. But, not sure how to handle adding on just yet. They're not even in the coop yet. Best to wait a few weeks, maybe?
younger the better so they will be one flock or you will get splinter groups and then you will have to get a buddy for the chick so it won't be alone, they still have to establish a pecking order

ok, cool. So, if I want to add more than one bird, should I do it all at once, or as I am able to get them? These ones are 7wo on Wednesday. once they are permanently out in the coop, the plan was to disinfect the brooder and go for round 2.

I was definitely wanting a roo eventually. I know that God is in control of all things and not I, but I really wanted a Welsummer roo or one of those beautiful Game(?) ones. I'm cool with it, though. Now, when we get a new Dorothy, She'll have a Stanley and all will be complete. :lau All things have worked out for the best. Besides, when they were a little less than 2 weeks, Dorothy and Blanche had quite a case of wry neck. Dorothy nearly died and spent about a week sleeping on my chest in the bed with DH and I. I've sort of become attached. Even though "HE" doesn't seem to remember how sweet he was being back then. Now he's a rowdy little pecker. I couldn't part with him.
its strange if you raise them you get very attach to them believe me i certainly understand this i do the same but isnt strange if you dont raise the chick how you can eat them??
