I just spent entirely too long back reading cause yall are too funny!!!

I've started working on my coop. It's going to be a true redneck invention and not fancy in the least lol. But Pearl, Penny, Chica, Rose (also named after a Golden Girl because she's a Golden comet) and Jack will not care lol. Jack is a Roo, named him before I knew that so I guess I knew from the get go that he was not a girl. He's going to be gorgeous though. My other Wyandotte is almost solid black right now. It's amazing how much they change. My two EE'ers look nothing like they did! And one of them is huge!

I just ordered some watering nipples because they are driving me insane with the water!!

It IS! omg. haha. I actually ate a rotisserie chicken the other day, and as I was pulling it apart, I felt guilty for dismembering one of their "cousins" while they are right there in my LR.

I think Jack is a cool name for a roo. That was my Dad's name and it is also my favorite boys name in general. As far as roos for us, I wanted to name our roo Elvis. Or Sue would be cool, too. Dorothy Doesn't look like an Elvis much. LOL

What to do today? I'm rendering lard from fatback. Gotta get the bacon curing started. Preboil the ribs for dinner tonight. I love that we raised our own pork!! Still believe I was born in the wrong century

Dh was supposed to SELL sausage and bacon from our hog. Guess what he took to work today? Over $50 worth of pork to GIVE away to coworkers. I was supposed to get the cooler out for him last Thursday but 'forgot'. He says I forgot because it wasn't chicken related. I said perhaps it had something to do with giving away my hard work! I don't mind giving and sharing with friends or family but when dh says 'I told xxx I'd take him some sausage. But xxx heard us talking so I have to take him some too. And xxx is usually on the same crew so I guess I need to give him some. Nobody likes xxx but it wouldn't be right to bring sausage for everyone else and not him so...Boss man can't be left out either.' WTH?!? Here honey, let me just split the whole hog for everyone else.

Hahah! I know what you are going thru! My DH also tells me that same line, I didn't do something because "it wasn't chicken related"! And when we go to swaps or the farmers market and he is getting hungry and wants to go, he will start hollering, "Buy one get one free!" or "we make deals!" ugh! He also tells me in front of company, "Go get some eggs for XXXX" Our DH would get along great!
