Because of work, finishing the coop has been put on the back burner. However, weather permitting, I plan to finish tomorrow. When hanging my hardware cloth on the run...are 1/4 inch crown staples that are 2 inches long from an air gun secure enough?

We thought so until the bear just ripped it off the door! Killed 7 chickens and one duck. Since then, we have gone back and used screws.

So...still no eggs from my girls!!!!!! 22 weeks and nada. My poor roo grabs them and tries to mount them but they get mad and he let's go. Nothing for him or me!!!!! Ggggrrrr!!

Yep. Rose is the only one laying for us. She started at 24 wks. Still waiting for Blanche & I'm pretty sure Sophia's gonna be a while. She's not as developed as the others. Soon! I hope you get some soon!

Understand Flowerbh! Luckily down here we don't have hardly any bears. Head stories of one on the other side of the county, but never seen him myself. In my 30 years on this farm, I have never seen one nor heard stories of one from my grandfather.

Started up the incubator this morning for a pre-season hatch or two. I realized that I will have a week off in three weeks (in between current job and shiny brand NEW job that I got this week!!) and it will be fun to have a symbolic hatch of sorts.

Hey. Any reason will do, right?

She fired right up and was holding steady temp within 15 minutes. Papa if you have eggs to add let me know and I'll set them a few days apart so we can keep track of which babies belong to whom.

I will be getting you some either tomorrow or monday, 6 and 6 for kat and a few for me, depending how many more blue eggs I have when I get home tomorrow we may have a few for anyone else that wants some
