YO GEORGIANS! :)

beckyb, our farm and you are closeby neighbors!!!!! Hello and hope the storm was okay for you. It was intense here but no property damage. Got to walk the fence lines here!

In the pictures of incubators, what purpose does the sealed jars or bottles of water have, in the incubation process? I have a dozen eggs that I really want to hatch after 2 failed hatches. Well not total losses, my first hatch I had 1 and now I have a set of bantam eggs, that are on day 24, still waiting anxiously! And want to get my bator right this time! My set up is just a styrofoam cooler with a dish of water and a thermometer in it. My first hatch with 1 successful want a terrible set up that didn't even have a lid on it! So what am I doing wrong??

Hello Georgians! I'm from Birmingham, AL but am posting because I saw this chicken coop giveaway on Facebook. Hudson Family Farm is based out of GA and they look like they do some pretty cool stuff. I already let my AL peeps know, so I figured I'd share with ya'll too.

I am super excited with my first egg! I'm 90% certain that it was Lily because she is the oldest. But it's before I seperated her from the other girls so I guess we will see! The feed store was closed yesterday so I couldn't get VetRX but I ordered LA-200 and Peter Brown sent me a fb message that its on its way along with an eye cream

) so hopefully he will be feeling better in no time!!!! She is still happily movin about and the nasal discharge has lessened considerably. So maybe it's pollen??lol. I saw a bunch on the lake on our hike so I know it's def starting!!!!

I was just telling Clark that those pine trees are going to be producing their wonderful greenish yellow pollen that will cover everything, YUCK. Glad Dr. Brown could get you the meds. At least you'll have them for Lily if needed or the other two if they start to come down with the same thing.

We live in Evans County and have Buff Brahma Bantams, Light Brahma Bantams, Rhode Island Red Bantams, Barred Rock Bantams, Rare Red Dorkins, and an assortment of Brown Egg layers. Will lock down bator tommorow with a dozen buff brahma eggs, and rest will be assorted, mostly sexlinks. We enjoy raising our chickens and we also raise rabbits.

I'm not really sure where Evans county is but we're glad you're here. Sounds like you have some nice breeds and then bunnies too to top it off.

Becky come in and sit awhile and tell me all about your polish! We just purchased two, a WC Chocolate Frizzled pullet and a Khaki Smooth feathered cockerel. We will be adding some more polish pullets to our breeding pen soon. We also have silkies!

Thank you so much for sharing this opportunity with us! How very sweet of you.

I can see your wanting to live in Blairsville where it's a tad bit cooler. The hospice nurse I had for my mom has a place up in Blairsville, I think, that I'm sure she would like to sell as she is in Florida now taking care of her own parents.

lost 7 babies n 41 growing babies. they were doing so good. no power for 26 hours.

to hear this Becky. I hope the power came back on so your other babies will be okay.

Ugh! So I had 5 bantam eggs that are at day 25, (a nice member has been giving me advice on them) and was told that bantam usually hatch earlier than others. I tried to help 1, that I thought was ready and that did not end well

. I candled the remaining this morning and they are all still alive but still have a lot of veins, and fluid in them. What did I do wrong?? I am also setting 12 large brown eggs that I really want to hatch. Advice on home made incubators would be great!
