So sorry to hear about your dog troubles. I agree with you on all counts. We live on a good bit of land but there are people breeding pits in the area. If I catch them on my property it's done, by gun or by pound. I think we all know the fault is with the owner that does not keep up with their animals. The problem is as soon as those dogs are gone they will more than likely replace them with more. When the pound gets involved you can strike them in their wallets and in court since quite frankly by their actions they show their lack of heart or conscious and are totally devoid of any care of their creatures.I know that I am, but I just can't bring myself to kill the dogs. Now if I actually catch the dogs with a chicken in their mouth, or with one of my kittens in their mouth, I just might be singing a different tune....
If the pellet gun doesn't work, my next step is to call the pound. But I think the pellets will work, because it has worked for another dog that was wandering into my yard in the past, as well as stray cats. Those pellets hurt pretty bad, and if I shoot them in the right place, I don't think they will want to come back. (I hope)
I've already spoken to the owner, and he told me to shoot at them with a BB gun (tried that, the BB's just bounce off them). He doesn't care about his dogs running loose. He's very irresponsible, and I don't know why people like that even get animals to begin with. SMH.
On a lighter note: HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL OF YOU PRECIOUS MOTHERS OUT THERE!![]()

I have 2 I need to get rid of.
We may need to sell our two Runner Ducks. We don't want to, but we are renting our home as a vacation rental (pet friendly! which means dogs!) and really don't know how we are going to keep these ducks. A lot of maintenance and it just will be hard and not right to have to keep them in an enclosed area for days at a time while renters are here with their animals! Haven't made any final decisions about them, but if you are interested, PM me. They hatched on May 3rd.I don't think hubs will let me drive 4 hrs to get a duck =o( i need to check craigslist i beti could find a duckling i'm just lazy. on another note 8 more days til lock down weee!
