This pic is just plain mean, they are looking like really why would she do this again. Fodder lessons please and what seed and where to buy itLike this? Bought some sod and put it under this frame. As the grass grew, the hens could only eat the tops that grew threw the wire. I would replace it with another piece of sod the next day and let the old ones grow taller again. If I had more frames, you could just leave the grass in there, but only had one frame and lots of sod so I would switch them up.
Fodder is like this and the chickens eat the whole thing, grass, seeds and roots. One pound of seed makes about 7 pounds of feed.

Yeah steal them if you can catch them, they certainly do not like it, they holler like they are being killed and then the whole yard is in an up roar, but really they did a number on the hills in my yard, they peck the mound and wait for the ants to come up and get them one at a time course I have 6 so that is 12 beady little eyes on the hunt.Really? because there is a GINORMOUS ant hill that popped up in the chicken yard, right where I need to build the run. 2'x2'. We have fire ants everywhere but I can't tell if these are or not. I thought about taking one for the team and letting one sting me to be sure the birds don't get hurt, but reconsidered. All I have to get rid them is some Spinosad spray(per a local farmer's recommendation to use where our well is, but it didn't seem to work on the other ant hills. Maybe l should try and catch the roaming guineas that are running loose and throw em in with the chickens? *jk

I have more coming Friday, too!! A very small hatch this time- nine I think- plus the four mfd that the ebay seller and I both "hope will do well"..Sometimes I feel like we live parallel lives. I also sold all the chicks I wanted to sell. Kept 8 to grow out to see what they will be like! Yea for us! Now the brooder is relined with contact paper (Makes cleaning so much easier) and fresh shavings. Waiting for new chicks to hatch this weekend! Then I can do this all over again! After I set these next eggs on the 13th (my son's birthday!) that will be my last hatch for a while. I need to stop and refocus.
