Desperate times call for desperate measures! Mine caught 2 ladybugs and a fruit fly.

Red wine and soap caught a BUNCH of fruit flies and no lady bugs. Red wine minus soap caught a NellaBean!

They are also for nosy cats unfortunately,,,,

They work well for plucking hair also. Note to self: do not hang in middle of dark room at head level. I like my hair attached...........to my HEAD, not to the fly strip.

And chickens too.... I had some hanging in the run last summer (it's about 6 ft. high) and for some reason they freaked out and one flew up into it. Not fun pulling that off.

A banana peel is the bait we use for fruit flies at our house. Squeeze a peel or two into an empty milk jug or bag and when full of the lil winged beasties simply cover and dispose of.

This peel was black, moldy, stinky and disgusting...it went nowhere other than the trash bin. I do have some apples in the fridge I could sacrifice if need be.

Current count. NellaBean: 39 - Fruit Flies: 3

Yes, another came out of the woodwork. I smashed it between my hands. Because I'm awesome like that.
