Those who don’t like fried squash or fried okra have never eaten what I cook. It is some of the best eating ever...especially in the summer when the garden comes in! Holy moly!

kraut is good on hot dogs not the other way with dogs in the kraut...

If you want to put something in kraut it should be dumplings......nothing more and nothing else.

Chicken and dumplings always sounds so good. I've tried off and on my whole life to like dumplings... I just don't have it in me, I guess. I love wonderful crusty yeasty fragrant fresh bread, but dumplings are not that.

My Grandma use to make them, sometimes she would cook the pork chops right in the kraut too.

Other times she would have meat like ground pork in the dumplings, but I am not sure how as the pork would be undercooked. Maybe she fried sausage to put in it.
