I have an chicken automatic water fountian and cooloing watering system! This is so easy and I will never have to lug another hose to the coop and clean out the nasty chicken waters with alge! Please try this soon!

You will only need 5 things......

1) a garden hose (you maybe have one)
2) a timer (get at the garden center)
3) a "bubbler waterer sprinkler" (round ring kind by the water hoses)
4) a cinder or concrete block (lots of styles and sizes)
5) a hot water pan (this is a shallow round pan that fits under your hot water heater and you can get in metal or plastic. Its 2 inches deep and 3 feet in circumfrence.

Put the soaker/bubbler on top of the cinder/concrete block screw in the hose. (you may want to add wire to keep it from falling off) Place the hot water pan under the bottom and turn on the hose.

Its that easy.

My chickens are the coolest chicks in town!

I let the pan overflow for a few minutes so the chickens can cool thier feet. I am adding some old bath tiles around the base so they will be even cooler on their feet.

Nope no photos...

This computer is a work computer and I can't upload pictures. I will to try next week. This project is easy and took me only 3 minutes to a "chicken water fountian"

You can turn the water up or down for different effects. I turn the water "high" when I want to give the chickens a gentle water cooling shower

and "low" when I want to fill up the water tray and refresh with cool water the bubbler will "dribble" water in the pan and I let it overflow to cool their feet.

The timer is set at your faucet at your house. You can set the timer to to off every 2/6 hours for 15 minutes at a time or what ever you want!!!!

I have a timer set up for drip irrigation in my garden, and a spout attached to this system refills my birdbath. This sounds like the same idea.

My timer is battery operated, so I do have to replace the batteries from time to time. If your chickens were relying on this kind of automated system for their water, you'd want to be sure to keep an eye on it daily to make sure it was working so your chickens wouldn't be without water if the system malfunctions.

The timer is hooked up at the faucet next to the porch. the hose is along side of the shadiest part of the yard out to the coop/run (to keep the water colder and I try not to leave the hose in the sun it makes the water real hot)

I set the time to go off every hour for 5 minutes... when the water overlflows a few minutes... it gives the chickens a "pool to splash in and it is a "self cleaning" system. if I run this for 15 full minutes all of the "poopy/mucky water is gone and replaced with cold fresh water 5 times a day! the total cost is less than $10 WOW!

Really, its just a cinder block with a soaker ring in a "hot water" pan (the kind under your hot water heater.) You can get all of this stuff at a hardware store and have a "water fountian" for your chickens in 15 minutes!

I run the water on "high" for a "sprinkler effect" and "low pressure" to just refill the water. You can make the water tower high by stacking 2 cement blocks and have a huge wet area. ( I just use only one cement block)

No I do not have photos... I will give this a try and see. But I do not have the program to upload the photos. Honestly a 8 year olk kid can set this up its ssssooooooo easy. Good luck!
