It's very easy to tell male and female flowers apart so maybe the male plants only make male flowers...I'm anxious to try growing some...thanks for that little bit of info...I'll keep an eye out and see if I can tell the difference.

Hi Betty R,
When I first began to grow eggplants I did not know when to harvest them. Here are two tips:
1. When they get dull instead of shiny they are too old.
2. If the seeds are brown when you cut into them they are too old.

Thanks for the tips...I'm starting to plan my spring garden...I will need to start planting in February.
