Your fav?

I love my Africans. They are friendly and lovable and great weeders! . They have free run of my garden in the Spring and Summer. They definitely have personality. They are pretty laid back and get along with my ducks and Guineas and peafowl. However, they will be defensive of their turf to strangers. They work as a secondary alarm system to my Guineas. The Guineas will alarm at everything but the geese tend to only alarm at things they don't recognize (animal or human). They've definitely helped to save themselves several times from rogue hunting dogs and foxes. I know there different sounds well which is a plus. Some people consider them to be loud but as long as you don't live in some type of development and you have some space between you and your neighbor it should be fine. Did I mention that they are beautiful as well?

Not owned them personally, but I love the looks of the Sebastopol geese!

Of my geese, my favorite I think is the Pomeranian. Very even tempered, quiet, and beautiful to look at!

Can't go wrong with any of the breeds in my opinion though. As long as you know what to expect, it's always rewarding!

Here’s my flock @Miss Lydia

Group 1:
Leo “French Toulouse dad of all the grey geese” 9 year old gander
Parsnip “French Toulouse” 7 year old gander
Delphi “Classic Roman” almost 1 year old goose
Apricot “American Buff” almost 1 year old goose

Group 2:
Darby “American Buff x French Toulouse cross” 5 year old gander
Strawberry “French Toulouse” 5 year old gander
Friday “French Toulouse” 5 year old goose

Leo is the big boy right after Apricot’s picture.
Parsnip is between Delphi and Apricot.
1st of group 2 is Strawberry.
Darby is 2nd.
Friday is the girl with the stylish neck poof. “She suffered a tear in the skin there as a gosling and when it healed the feathers grew in swirled.”
