Cyn - There are other Rescue Remedies besides Bach Flower (this is a name brand). Look for Five Flower Remedy, which is another brand, but pretty much the same thing. The difference is it has already been diluted down and so is less expensive. This is something most people don't know about Bach Flower Remedies - they are supposed to be diluted. Most people use them as they come, but the proper way to use them is to get a dropper bottle (the ones I get hold about 3 tablespoons of liquid) and fill with 1/2 spring water and 1/2 alcholol (usually brandy), then add 5-8 DROPS (not droperfuls) of the Bach Flower Essence. While this doesn't help with the initial cost, it definitely does make it more cost effective. Hope this helps and that Zane is his perky self soon.
Blessings,
Liz
Liz, thank you for the information on how to use the Rescue Remedy. We dont have many health food stores here, just one in town, so I'll have to see what brands they carry.
I think Zane is going downhill. When he fell off the roost bar and hurt his foot, I believe he also hurt his back. He holds himself funny and wont stand but a few minutes at a time now. He eats very little and just poops runny poop on his fluff. I can tell he's losing weight, too. Between his grief and his injury, I'm not sure how long we'll have him. This really bites. Maybe with time, he'll feel better, but if he's not eating, I'm not sure how much time he'll have.
Oh, Cyn, I'm so sorry to hear Zane continues to decline. Do you think he might have sprained his back or do you think it might be something more structual? If you feel it's more of a sprain rather than a broken bone, do you know anyone who does energy healing, like Reiki, that might be willing to work with him a bit? Reiki works on all levels - physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. And, yes, it does work on animals amazingly well. I wish I were closer and could help him. Sending warm, healing thoughts and hugs to you and Zane
