Good morning, everyone. At first, he was at the back of the pen with his head in the corner. Guess he has a hard time getting revved up for his day just like I do sometimes. We brought his bowl of eggs and yogurt and my DH turned him forward to eat. Next thing I see is that Zane has positioned himself with one wing over that bowl, the other wing on the edge of the bowl of his pelleted feed to raise himself up a little and within head reach of his waterer. He has a system now, LOL. I think he's just tired of eggs and yogurt, so he's chowing down on his regular feed very well. He looked up at me and seemed to have a light in his eye today, didn't seem depressed at all, just eating his breakfast when I left him, pausing every few bites to take a sip of water.
As far as Lorelei, she's the same. She will come running when I shake the scratch can, then suddenly stops like she hurts and begins walking gingerly toward me. I always go get her. She gets the rest of whatever my broody Olivia doesn't eat every morning, trying to keep her weight up(Lorelei's weight, I mean). She's very thin and it happened almost overnight. I really think we're dealing with what killed Lacy, a reproductive thing, since it may be as much as three weeks since she's laid an egg and there isn't one "up the pipe" that we can feel.
