Here's my cute white chick....hope you get one Kathy! It's doing very well thankfully, and the opal that hatched a few days before is a great teacher :)
Update :
We came home to a newly hatched white Peachick! These were the final 2, one quit a few days ago, and this one I didn't have much hope for. It's doing very well though:) I'll get a picture soon.
Thanks guys. It did poop, but since it's not consuming anything, it hasn't lately. I was thinking infection too. But it hatched out of the egg that way.
My pied chick is failing to thrive. It's bottom has been swollen from day one. I thought it was just from the yolk absorbing, but it hasn't gone down. It's like a pot belly but in it's hind end. And it doesn't want to stand, eat or drink. I don't know what to do! :(
Here is the opal. And here is my pairs first chick! It is a big one and I'm worried it has spraddle legs so I made it a hobble just in case. It's already getting around better. :)
Mind are hatching!!! Out of 24 eggs, 3 were fertile. And I bought a couple opal split pied WE eggs....one hatched and it has no white but still cute :) I have another hatching in the incubator and I can tell it's a pied...from my pied pair. There are 2 more under my hen due to hatch any day...
I have fertile eggs!!!! :) she's laid about 24....which is a lot for a 2 yr old I think...but 3 are developing. I'm not surprised by that number considering how many times I see my male try and miss lol!
My hen tried sitting but gave up after 3 days...this is her 2nd clutch.
Up in the right corner there is an upward swooping arrow...touch that and it'll bring a list of things you can do including subscribe. At least on the iPhone.
I went away for the weekend and came back to 2 pea eggs!!! But she laid them in my call duck's nest and broke an egg and now my duck isn't sitting:( a couple duck eggs still looked alive, so I put them under a broody hen. I can't believe my peahen could even fit in the space the call duck was...
