Does it have anything to do with tail feathers? My silver baby's tail is sticking up... But my partridge baby's tail looks like the one in your picture... Laying down.

So I lost my Lil guy with the shell butt... Never made it through the night... The other cone stuck in the egg is chirping but is also really stuck in the shell. I've added the wet paper towel around the shell twice. I don't know what more I can do except start taking the shell off myself...

Lil guy still has sticky butt but is outta the shell... The other is pipping right along now. The 2 older ones are now in baby cage( converted parrot cage with screen, heat lamp and such) I'm on day 19... They started hatching day 16. Melinda

Well finally separated from shell. While I was in there I added water to the sponges too. Humidity jumped! Maybe that help as well. Now on to the next one!!!

I just went in and tried to help.. I might have made it worse... The shell is really stuck to the Lil chick.. I broke off as much as possible and dampen the shell.. Thinking that it might soften up so the chick could shake it off. Also helped the other Lil chick as well but idk about that one...

Well that first pipped egg is done... It's shrink wrapped, not moving . One is almost out. It can't shake the shell off its butt. I have one other and I'm not sure. I think I'm going in. This was a bad catch for me. I never got to candle so all the eggs are in there 30 and only 3 so far have...

Well the 17th was day one of lock down... But one hatched at day 16th... One pipped day 16 too and that's one of them still trying to get out. Hoping its not dead.. It was peeping last night.

So 2 Lil chickies out but the 3 that were trying are still trying!!! Do I intervene ? Idk... Maybe tomorrow. I'm afraid of ruining it for the other eggs. Melinda

Congrats ... I was thinking of intervening too but think I'm going to wait another day. I've got 3 trying their darnest to zip out! Hope the rest do fine on their own Melinda

Sorry about that my Internet went down . MY temp has stay 99.8 to 99.4 lowest I did a dry hatch where humidity was 24-25 though out the whole process. . I may have a problem with the first Lil guy. I have no movemt with him anymore. But one's out and 3 more pipping. Silver pencil rock is out...

That really stinks! I bought shipped eggs and its not looking good from 15 Banty eggs 4 look good . From 9 silver pencil rocks 3 look good From 6 partridge rock 4 look good 11 out of 30 and its only day 7 there's a lot more time left from things to go wrong. ! I'm afraid.... Melinda

I place a sturdy box under the whole incubator so I don't open it. Not under the egg carton .

I don't open my Baylor and I don't have a turner but I place a box under one side then switch it up to the other side. This way less heat escapes. I like it a lot better . Melinda
