Oops, sorry about that, I don't feel comfortable reposting address and directions all over the internet, but I will check this again in the morning and again around noon and will send info to anyone that has inquired.
The Meet & Greet is from noon tomorrow to 3 a.m. Sunday (or...
Hey everyone, I wanted to drop all you non-Facebookers a line and invite you to Margie's Meet & Greet Extravaganza tomorrow. (Sorry for the short notice, I haven't been on here much at all!)
Here's the Facebook Event info, you should be able to see it even if you aren't on Facebook...
OMG! I can't believe I had to go back to PAGE 18 to retrieve this thread? I know it's spring and we're all busy, take a minute to say hi and tell us what you're doing!
That is exactly one of the things I was thinking of for the barrels! The yard at our new place is swampy and terrible, and, since it's a rental, I don't want to put a lot of money into building raised beds and building soil (though most would be rabbit manure) so after I get my water barrel...

Apparently Budget carries it, you can buy as much or as little as you need. This is second hand, though, and I don't know if it's in yet or not.

I don't know how many your friend is wanting but I know of at least one local flock that has mostly good breeder bloodlines. (My old flock is still in tact, but I don't know how many hens survived a bout of owl attacks.) If you're interested, I could get hatching eggs for you for a...

Timing I don't know about, but if I were getting hatchery Dels again I would go with Privett via Welp. The general consensus is that they have some of the better hatchery stock, and Welp seems to do a pretty good job processing the orders and getting them here.
That being said, I will...

Hi Carmen, haven't checked in here for a while. I was pretty sad about having to sell off my birds (well, gave them to a friend,) and needed a break from all things chicken.
I moved downtown for a job at the Anchorage Press and I'm loving life here, but miss the chickens! Now plotting...
Paula, I will buy some of your Kelp. I have just under 20 birds, though. I don't think I need much. What would you recommend for that number for the next 6 months? I am tentatively planning on ordering a LOT of chicks in the spring, but that's a ways off. Have you asked about the price of Kelp...
Tori currently has Ameraucanas, though I don't think most of hers are a standard color and she may be downsizing out of them?
Krystal Mitchell also has some. Again, not sure what colors, but she did say they are true Ameraucanas. You could get in touch with her through AK Farm & Food on...

The bedroom coop is getting a skim and the nipple is frozen, the other coop is frozen solid, but the birds are fine. I am starting a new routine. Am going to gather the bottles at night and bring them in by the wood stove, then take them back out when I feed and gather eggs in the...
Well, it's not even November yet and I believe I have my first casualties of frostbite.
Posted it here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=5055125#p5055125
Pretty sure I'm going to cull them unless anyone has some miracle advice.

That's what I was wondering. I had mine indoors for less than a month and I could not stand it! My spring chicks are going into an insulated brooder outside with heat lamps.

Me too! I saw that and started drooling...I keep trying to remind myself to have patience! I should really wait 'til spring. Heck, I don't think I have a choice in that matter!
Hey, if it works for us to get them, maybe we could work something out...
I'm open to ideas. I also read...
