Actually, that is a Wheaten Gamefowl hen I bought from a nearby homestead. I love gamefowl. Here is an album of pictures from my old homestead. I suffered a bad injury and had to give all of these up, but I still love the pictures of them...

So great to see all the great pictures. I am starting over at a new homestead in a much more homestead-friendly part and things are going great. I got a nice little flock up and coming from TSC chicks. At some point, I would like to maybe buy some hatching eggs from one of you guys just to...

I think they are self regulating. I raised a couple of sebrights in my large brooder because I did not have an extra pen for them. It is darker in the brooder and they have less room to move. The two birds in the brooder eat about 1/4 the amount of the sebrights that are in the pen and they...

Nice bird. I don't like any of my cockerels from this year at this point. Not sure why, but most of my cockerel's tails have not grown out. All of my cockerels are small compared to their parents and most have white wing feathers. I have several Cockerels from Privett that look OK but their...

Well, after my first year of working with cubas, I would have to say this is the best bird all my efforts produced male or female. Not saying she is great, just the best of the bunch. Obviously a lot to improve on her if I were trying for sop, especially the head.

No, I meant sky fox. They are just like those non-native Australian Spotted Ground doves that jump up out of the grass right at your feet when you are hunting Mourning Doves and you instinctively shoot it. And then you say, "Whew! Good thing it was an Australian Spotted Ground dove and not a...

LOL! I usually eliminate these kinds of threats if they hang around. It's the "Sky Foxes" that are the real problem.

Blue Red from Zook's line. She seems happy to be roaming free. Hope she last.

Felix1 is right. I talked with Mr. Privet myself months ago and he told he got his original stock from Ideal. This was a huge let down for me as all my Ideal birds died of a genetic defect. I was hopeful that Privett acquired his birds from Ideal before the rise of this defect, but I have...

Thank you all for your kind words. This has been hard for me and I feel that as much help as you all have given me, that you all deserve a better explanation for my decision. I actually wrote this to Troyer as a private message, but I feel I should share it with you all. It is the least I can...

Thanks. They are starting to smooth out a little. This is my first year with cubas and I am amazed at how much they change as they mature. These pullets are all that are left after my first cull. Going to raise them to one year old and cull again.
