Love all the little noises. I don't know what is so interesting about a flock of birds pecking at a cabbage but I could watch it all day! (And often do) :lol:

There are fields on the other side of the road, heathland then the sea. Thats about a mile stretch. In the opposite direction there is a field then a large lake where all the wild geese hang out so hopefully that is more appealing to them.

Oh how sad. :hugs 8 is right, Moose loved his mirror and teddy. For Malcolm I rolled up a towel and curved it into a horseshoe shape, he would snuggle up in the middle of it.

This is what I got so far! Little Malcolm is just along for the ride at this point. "I don't get it but I'm having fun anyway!"

Well that doesn't sound so bad. I suppose I will just see what happens. There is plenty of room if they don't stray too far as we're surrounded by sheep fields. At least I know if the get too bold I can always clip their wings.

Sheesh! I was not expecting that. I thought toulouse were too heavy? But I guess Moose being a production type is lighter. There are a couple of thousand pink footed geese that winter on the loch at the back of the house. They arrive mid September. I don't think I want them mingling with wild geese.

Eek! Do they? What age do they usually start? I'll have to keep an eye on him, there's a road at the bottom of the hill! I don't want to have to clip his wings.

More like the big gosling that tried his dammed hardest but just ended up running half way down the drive before giving up and Ooh, grass! Om nom nom nom!:lol:

Do they go far? We have lots of room for them to explore but they won't go far unless I take them.

I can't wait to see him fully feathered. I'll have to make a mental note of all these names. I want to see what he looks like before I commit :) I will try. If it's windy tomorrow I may even get one of him running at the wind trying to take off! I don't think he realises just how big he is! :-)

Ryan McMalcolm? Ahahaha :lau Thanks. He seems to be mellowing a little with me. Moose is as awesome as ever. Wherever I am I can shout, "MOOSE!" and I hear a loud honk and he comes running, wings spread! Soo funny. :)

Ha ha ha I always thought he would be pretty. Can I still call him Malcolm? Or should I go for something like Brad or Nick? Oooh RYAN!!!

I don't know if you saw my earlier post? Mmmmm has been very protective of Moose today by getting in between him an the dog, mouth open in an attempt to bite and "honking" away. Is that even something a male would do at that age?

Exactly how I feel. It took me months to build up to the first one even though he was a nasty rooster. I had to force myself to watch you tube videos on how to dress a chicken. Still, the OH does the "deed" I do the rest. And yes, home reared meat is soo much better than mass produced shop...
