November 2016 Hatch-a-long!!

Day 10 Candling (Silver Laced Wyandotte Shipped Eggs):

Of the eight shipped eggs, almost all had detached air cells.
-Two had obvious blood rings and were removed on Day 7

-One more has a blood ring forming now

-Three show no development

Only two of the eight have any chance of hatching:
-One has good veining, but a big, saddle-shaped air cell

-One looks absolutely perfect, with a nice air cell, good veining and a moving chick!

(Hope I can hatch one hen, anyway) <3

It is nice to have chicks while you are waiting for your Nov. hatch. I hatched these guys out over a week ago..7/7
SFH, BCM, blue Isbar, and one that is BCM/Blue isbar mix.

You're going to be swimming in chicks :)

I hope so! Lol I was told I needed to stop giving eggs to broody hens, but our flock is for eggs and meat, so having so many varying ages is perfect IMO. We have 2 broodies with chicks at 1 and 2 weeks old, and one who is still taking care of her 13 week old chicks! I keep waiting and wishing that she would chase them off and start laying again, because she lays huge eggs, but she is stubborn about it.
