Very nice lists of plants for chickens to eat. I like the categories. More pictures to help folks identify plants would make it better.

What a helpful article. The pictures really help us identify the plants. The descriptions tell why the plants are worth feeding to chickens. Just excellent! Thank you!

If you want, add more detail explaining better why you are doing certain things, and why the sizes matter (not about the door height - I think i got that :gig) If this is a continuing article, it would be great to follow as you go along.

Really useful information with enough details to help me understand and apply the ideas. The pictures and illlustrations were very on point and helpful. There is one video link that has gone kaphlooey, but that is not the author's fault. Superior article. Thank you!

A really creative repurpose, with lots of detail and helpful photos. this is an interesting coop, with some very thoughtful comments and planning to allow for chicken comfort and ventilation, as well as blocking those drafts! Thank you! I have one of these sheds, which is completely stuffed with tools and junk to the point where I cannot access anything in there. HMMM...

I had never heard of buffalo gnats, but a quick google search turns up the info that these beasties are known as Black Flies up here in New England. I had not known they could kill birds! They are annoying as snot to humans, I can attest. I will be watching now! Thank you for the article - and tips!

What a fabulous article! Thank you so much. The one quibble I have is that I would never put any meat or fats into my compost, so NO, I would not put the cooked remnants of the spine, etc., into my compost after making broth. Otherwise, this is a very helpful article. I learned a lot!

I am so glad I ran across this today. My heart was sore because a new member showed up talking about a prefab coop. Lots of members jumped on and told them what a terrible mistake they had made. I also bought a prefab coop (as recommended in the Chickens for Dummies book by some of the moderators at BYC!). It's not going to be terrible, but it certainly is not big enough for 6 chickens much less the 8 they rate it for!

Your article gives me hope and some excellent ideas for perhaps building or modifying stuff to make my chickens a better home. Thank you for the honesty, the careful pictures, the detail and the tips. So helpful!

I'm so glad. I just rehabbed my prefab. I'll be posting on that but I really can't seem to get rid of it. It is too useful.
