So interesting and thorough! I could see my roosters in your roosters and now it makes more sense. My current three are wonderful but sooner or later I'll wind up with a problem child again and I'll come back to reread parts of this. Excellent!

Excellent info. I'm bookmarking this for the next time someone says they don't know who is or isn't laying. Me personally, I have silkies so don't care who isn't laying, just grateful for who is!

Thank you esteemed colleague of the chicken university.
Thank you, Becky, for sharing your story and the wisdom you gained. I do not have Marek's here that I'm aware of, but know those who do and wanted to learn more about it. I may face it someday and now will be a little bit more educated about it, but regardless, I wanted to know more to be able to be understanding with those I know who do have it. Thank you!

You are a great friend to want to do that. Sincerely hope that you don't ever fight Marek's. Thank you for your kind words and Happy New Year!

This was so educational to learn that it's probably not just luck of the draw why some chickens absolutely adore me and others see me and run like I've got the plague.

Good topic but some things aren't specified enough yet pushed. Most essential oils in any form are generally not for ingestion by humans, much less by chickens. The brand linked I know has some for ingestion by humans. Maybe in other countries, it's different though.

See the comments below as well as I like the topic, it just needs to cover other forms of oregano oil and more of its benefits.

It's a great method I've heard before but never tried it as I never saw it before. Great photos! Especially the one done who looks a bit mad. ☺️

I have heard people who tried having issues with them falling off though but your explanation to make it fit better would help them had they read this. I have hatched 100s and wound up with two w/ splayed legs thus far and cut a thin strip of vet wrap which did the trick. It's good to have different methods though as every chick can be a new challenge! I'll try yours next time to see! :highfive:

This is very thorough for anyone considering an NR360. You covered everything well! We owned one for a couple of years, then wanted to go bigger so found a used Brinsea 56 EX and use both of them now.

Your condiment container for the distilled water is ingenious. I have a 2-cup plastic measuring cup I use and often spill.

I may try those plastic clips as I have probably opened the cover at least 100 times and it just never came easy to me.

I lost the red plug...probably a cat found it and batted it somewhere but until it shows up, I cut a piece of hard plastic to cover one side during incubation and both sides during lockdown.

Thanks for the tips and the article. Next time I see anyone asking about this particular incubator, I'll give them the link to your article if nobody else does. :love
