Good article! Be aware that DE, in my and others opinions, while may prevent mites, will do nothing to rid them of mites if they are impacted by mites. Additionally, DE is a respiratory irritant for both birds and people, as well as being very expensive.

I usually give my birds the wrinkly apples as a treat. I eat the rest of them (I usually have an apple a day (but no luck keeping the Dr away)

I had fed my chickens overripe cherry tomatoes for a long time, and they loved them, but then I read a source that said tomatoes were toxic, so I stopped. I’m glad that this has eased my mind!
