Looks like this was well made with pallets and scrap wood! Do you have any photos of the build in progress (so others can see how it was built)? Pictures of the inside would be nice to see too. Love the rounded window!
Good write up on how to build this small coop. Seems like it should have more ventilation and I'm not crazy about the ramp but otherwise, a very nice small coop!
For someone's very first building project, this turned out well. It's a nice size for a small flock, thought was given on ventilation and the roof overhang to keep rain out and they used hardware cloth. Some inside photos would have been nice to see.
I'm all for repurposing materials but using refrigeration panels doesn't seem to translate into a good coop. As the member found, this gets very warm. And since squirrels can get in, safety from predators apparently is an issue.
I'd be very concerned about using all that chicken wire...a predator wouldn't have to dig underneath, it could just tear through the wire (hardware cloth would have been a better choice).
Not a bad looking brooder, especially since it was built with materials already on hand. The article could have benefited from details on how it was built.
