I've referred to this article many times...both for myself and to point it out to new members that aren't real familiar with BYC. There are links that explain everything from how to add pictures, change an avatar to how to turn off advertising. And the demo on how to use BYC is helpful.

Sorry PBF turned out to be such a problem but I liked how you documented the issues you were having and how you handled things.

Nice tractor! I like the height and that it's easy to move. The cost to build seems reasonable too.

I'm wondering how sturdy this is against predators. Chicken wire and plastic walls don't seem really secure...maybe there's something I'm not seeing in the photos? Can you provide more info regarding that please?

Yeah. Firstly mounted on a slab base that goes beyond the frame. High gauge mesh not cheap, easily cut mesh. Also even though you see plastic it is a very high grade durable plastic quite expensive thermal(mesh also covers all over whole frame including roof. Also thick sturdy wood. Also hens on total lock down inside coop. Also a two door lockable highly durable cat flap that leads to outside run. Also sensor lights all over.
Our concerns are foxes, cats and badgers, they can't dig under and wire too thick to break. And when they are put to bed we double check every exit and whole run and coop checked daily for signs of preditor. None so far.

Your DH did a good job, especially considering this was his first time! It would be helpful to see more detail on the build. Thanks for sharing your coop!

To think, it all started with free chickens and a little coop :) You & your brother did a nice job on providing a more secure and roomier place for your flock!

I like everything about your coop...the size, the layout (and the fact that the kids got to help build it)! Very nice building and you really did a good job of documenting the build too, thanks for that!

Great job of describing your coop build and including photos of the progress! Stories like yours give us other non-builders hope :)

I see the photos of the coop ok, but the font used for the narrative is so small I can barely read it.

Looks like a good coop for those Connecticut winters. Do you have photos of the inside you could share?

I like how you kept in mind how to keep the coop clean once your flock started using it! Now that you've had this coop for a while, is there anything you've changed on it? Or would like to change?

I don't think anyone would know you had no experience with building just looking at the finished product! Your coop & run turned out great.

I know next-to-nothing about pigeons and zero about their housing needs, so this was really interesting to me. Good job with fixing up their new place, cool looking perches. Thanks also for the photos of the newly hatched littles, they're really cute.
