Great article Pyxis! I especially appreciate you busting the myths that all roosters will be human aggressive & can’t cohabitate with other roosters. We have been lucky enough to have a gentle giant & a bonded pair.
Great article! It popped up on the home page exactly at a time when we are talking about raising our own. Very informative & simple to follow instructions. Thank you!
I've definitely seen a few of these various pecks here. The mama hen/chick peck, the alpha peck & the pick me up peck can all be easily misunderstood if you're not familiar with them.
Thank you for reading the article. I read quite a lot of posts on the forums where posters are concerned about pecking. Often it seems fairly obvious that the pecks are not meant to be aggressive but the response often is. Maybe if people read this they might think before reacting.
What a horrible situation! Who knew? Thanks for taking the time to bring this to peoples attention. Keeping the permethrin on hand is excellent advice, not just for gnats, but for other bird invading beasts as well.
Without doubt the nicest coop (inside & out) that I've ever seen. DH must love the woman very much! I'm not sure which aspect is my favorite part. The fish scales, the porch, the vintage nesting boxes & the rooster statues standing guard outside the door, are all really beautiful touches. Your writing style was catchy & easy to read. 5 star article all the way around.
This is great info to have here! I'm having trouble hyperlinking to one of the California sites. Can you list what websites you referenced for the article so I can look it up directly?
